Your death is still surreal and hard to comprehend even after 4 years. You were truly a great human being. Your selfless dedication to the success of others still has no match. I'm convinced heaven is really enjoying your presence, and God be praised for providing comfort and solace to us here on earth to cope with your absence. May your memories be forever blessed and may God continue to watch over your family and friends.

I could remember as we all worked into the class for our first lecture at the Polytechnic Ibadan in about mid1995. The journey began and friendship blossomed. That was our melting pot. Years down the line we cannot but remember ourselves. I ran into two of our common friends 2 days ago and I was given the worst news of the year. OLUMIDE IS NO MORE! You were quite but fun to be with, respectful and brilliant- all pointing to good upbringing by godly parents. May your soul rest in perfect peace.

Dear Olumide, I got the news of your death with shock and sadness, truly how I wish this was a joke, but alas you are gone forever. You were a great, humble and dedicated colleague who gave me all the necessary support while on the job. You were indeed one of a kind, greatly to be missed by your friends and family. Sleep on bro till we meet on resurrection morning.

Dear Engr Olumide,
We received the news of your demise with rude shock and great sadness. Our hearts were saddened that your shining star that lights others now suddenly went dim.

I vividly remembered the last time we met during your vacation in Lagos in 2015. You were full of life with great optimism. From your generosity, You even gave me a great treat while leaving Lagos for Ibadan. Your gentleness, vigour and attitude are well beyond the ordinary. You worked with great optimism and can-do spirit regardless of the challenges and difficulties.

You have fought a good fight and left the race for others to continue. The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living. You will continue to live in our memory when we encounter men of integrity ans sincerity like you. Good men must die, but death cannot kill their names. We pray that God grant you eternal rest. The Lord will grant your wife, children and the enntire family the fortitude to bear this loss

What a soul to miss so soon . You were too humble, quite, calm and respectful in all our encounters but as always said the good ones don't last long. You came to teach us a lesson we can achieve without being rude. Will forever miss you. To me you are an extraordinary Nigerian. I grief because your kind is one in a million. Rest on my dear brother!

Olumide - such a great colleague who worked extremely well with me despite not ever meeting face to face till you passed on. The shock and hollowness that I felt on learning of your sudden death left me wondering how much worse members of your immediate family might be feeling for some time to come. I hope that we all find some consolation in the words of Samuel Beckett who said "we are not saints but we have kept our appointments, how many people can boast as much?" As far as I know, you have kept your appointments, my brother. May the all-knowing God overlook your shortcomings and grant your family the fortitude to bear this colossal loss. Rest in peace, dear brother.

Our path crossed in the line on duty and not only did u work with me as a professional but also like a friend and brother. The way and manner you resolve issues is not only white-colar but in a halcyon way which is second to none. I wonder why death should have its way with someone like you but who am I to question God........I will surely miss you. Your demise is a shock to me. Continue to rest in peace,Adieu bro.

Olumide! it is unbelievable, so difficult to understand why you have gone so soon. There are unanswered questions: why Olumide? Why now? However, God knows the best. He gave you to your family and friends to have a unique experience with your kind heart and beautiful soul. Although this has been cut short, you have gone to rest in His bosom. God will be with your family. He will continue to be the father to your children and husband to your wife. Sun re o. A o pade lese Jesu. O di gba.

Olumide you are a true epitome of humanity. No amount of crying or words can describe the gravity of the pain of your death in our heart. Truly it is not how far that matters but how well, without doubt, you have spent the little grace of time that you dwell among us to touch the life of many in a very positive way. I know that your love, kindness, caring, generosity, selfless attitude, and true friendship shall never be forgotten. I do not understand why you left us so soon, or why you left before we could say good-bye, but gradually I began to remember not just that you died, but that you lived and that your life gave me memories too beautiful to forget. You are one of those special people in my life whom memory will never leave me, even after they are called to eternal glory, so my beloved brother you will live on in the kindness we have shared and the love you brought into our lives. God in His infinity mercy will grant your beloved wife and the entire Folayan family the strength to bear the pain of your loss and give them the anointing to carry on with the journey from where you stopped. I love you but God love you more. Till we meet again in that glorious home in heaven where no death can separate us again, rest in peace in the bosom of Almighty God. As for me there shall be no goodbye, wherever you are, you will always be in my heart, however I will miss you dearly. Sun re o, ore otito, sun re o.

We write with a heavy heart the loss of our one and only Olumide Folayan close and dear to all our hearts.
Olumide Folayan, at a tender age of 38 you departed this world too early even before we could rekindle the flames of our long developed friendship. Within the short time of 5 years spent together at university of Ibadan, you have touched the lives of everyone that came your path. You left us to ask God what happened, but who are we to question God. Memories of you will linger on in our hearts, we can't and will not forget you and the good things you have done in your short time. Thou short and fulfilled, we definitely would want and need more of you around. You brought peace and comfort to the hearts of so many with your ever charming smiles, your memories lingers on forever.
This handsome man, inside and out was a wonderful friend to all, supporting and keeping the flames of friendship for over 15 years with your gentle and caring nature. Your unfinished business causes pain, but we have peace because we know you are in a place where their is no worries. You've touched the hearts of many with your warmth.
Above all, we the second family you have left behind, will keep your spirit flying high. You name and thought is engraved in our hearts.
Adieu Olumide.

Olumide Folayan, so many good things to remember you for.
Right from the days of Sultan Bello Hall to securing your first job at GLO.
You never allowed peoples perception about others affect how you relate with people "?".
Selfless in giving to a fault and always all smiles.
The news of your death is still like a dream that im still trying to come to terms with.
May almighty God preserve your parents, wife and kids that you have left behind.
I will definitely miss you GREAT LUMIDEE

Olumide Folayan. I am at a loss for words. Can someone please tell me this is all a joke?
Olumide was one of the most hardworking and dedicated people I've ever met. Ever since our IT days at Steineng and through our 5 years in UI, you've always had a strong work ethic. You had a good sense of humour, always quick with a joke to defuse any situation. Respectful, considerate of others and generous.
Only God knows why you had to go. I pray for your family and 2 children for the fortitude to bear this loss. Sun re o Olumide. We will surely meet again

A good Man

April 22, 2017

Olumide,

What can i say other to say that you were such a gentle, kind and loving friend. Your wisdom, intellects and passion for what you do is commendable. You have fought the fight and gone too soon. I have benefitted from your  little sojourn in this earth and i thank God that path crossed on this mother earth.

The memory of the dead is refreshed in our minds with their past deeds and action. I cry in my heart over your demise.

Adieu, Baba.
