Gone too soon....., much sooner than expected. You were a father ( a loving daddy) genuine child of God. A complete humble, honest, God fearing and loving man who had genuine concerns for people around him most especially students regardless of race and tribe. You were such a man with insatiable appetite to serve God and one who avoided controversy no matter how trivial. The legacy you left behind will always remain in our hearts.
You have fought a good flight of faith and I believe you are resting on the blossom of your dear father. Daddy sun re oooo.

Finally found the courage to write today 13th of April after several hesitations. I never thought this will be happening this soon; at least, not this soon.
I felt something wasn’t right that morning. I was feeling unusually cold, and when I got to Bradford, I’d missed a call from Imoleayo and Titilayo that fateful morning. Then I knew something was going on. I was later to be told you had gone to be with your maker.
“Boda mi Seyi”! The news of your demise came to me as a shock; I literarily felt my heart beat stopped. I broke down! I was shattered and life became meaningless. I lost interest in everything around me. Yes, I cried and wailed like a child. I never thought I would be referring to you as late.
“…But thanks be to God, who giveth us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ…” I take solace in the assurance of resurrection. What more can I say? I do not even have the right words! But in all, I have chosen to give thanks to the Lord for a short but meaningful life you lived. You touched everyone that came your way. Your good works and deeds speak even in death. And I have chosen to celebrate your life and not to morn each time I think about it.
So today 13th of April; 21 days after you left, I saw you! And I am comforted that you are indeed resting. Having done all, you are now with your maker. The strife is o’er, the battle is won!
Keep resting gallant soldier of Christ till the resurrection morn!

The news of your demise hit us so hard, we still can’t believe we are writing a tribute because of your passing, there are almost no words for this. After all, how do one say “Goodbye” to someone when you haven’t actually come to terms with the fact that they are gone?

Words cannot describe this difficult moment, but if this is the last time I get to say goodbye then i will do so well.

I consider myself blessed to have lived this life as your nephew and so does my wife whom you call iyawo wa, we will cherish every single moment we spent with you.

I can still remember vividly the joyful countenance you exhibit whenever you see us, the cheerfulness in you and the unending generosity, that was your unique identity.

You touched so many lives by your selfless and countless acts of kindness, always giving and never expecting any favours in return. Your dedication to a cause was what set you apart. For every institution you worked for, you laid the path for others to succeed.

The benefits of your hard work is a living testimony for so many young men and women you took under your wings at a personal and professional level.

Prof, you were and will always be an inspiration to myself, the entire family and anyone who worked with you. You have left a void in the family that will never be filled.

While we mourn today, we also take comfort in the fact that your mission on earth has been fulfilled and we are certain that although you have died but yet you live. John 11:25

A TRIBUTE: PROFESSOR O.O. OLUWATOSIN, FNSAP

PRESENTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE NIGERIAN SOCIETY FOR ANIMAL PRODUCTION (NSAP) ON BEHALF OF THE ENTIRE NSAP FAMILY

It is with a heavy heart that we received the sad news of the demise of Professor Oluseyi  Oluwajubelo  Oluwatosin, FNSAP. On behalf of the National Executive Council and the entire membership of the Nigerian Society for Animal Production (NSAP), I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the whole Oduguwa/ Oluwatosin and Alabi families and pray that our good God would grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

Prof. Oluwatosin, a world class Animal Scientist, was a committed member of NSAP who played key roles in the Society. A man of excellence, Prof. Oluwatosin rose to become the Editor-in- Chief of the Nigerian Journal of Animal Production and served meritoriously. His tenure was marked by landmark scientific rating of our Journal. Even after his tenure on the National Exco, he continued to support the Society by attending conferences where as Chairman of scientific sessions, many upcoming scientists consistently drank from his wealth of experience. Today, his efforts along with others resulted in a blossoming scientific society, a force to be reckoned with in animal production matters in Nigeria and beyond.

In recognition of the efforts of Prof. O.O. Oluwatosin to the development of animal production in Nigeria, the Society unanimously decided to confer on him the highest honour on any individual, Fellow of the Nigerian Society for Animal Production (FNSAP) in 2018.

We all know that Prof. Oluwatosin worked as a man who cared so much for his

environment, for his nation and for those around him. He was a teacher par excellence, a leader in research, an international scholar, a mentor and a good family man. In more ways than one, he touched our lives. His works bear eloquent testimony of the fact that he was an accomplished man. His commitment and service to the Nigerian Society for Animal Production were outstanding and meritorious. He taught every one of us who walked in his path that hard work pays and sustains; that hard work and commitment earn respect for a man. We will cherish his legacies for a long time to come. His death, therefore, is not in vain, but a transition to higher glory.

We love him but God Almighty loves him the most. Our prayer, along with other friends and colleagues, is that the Lord of Host will grant the NSAP community, FUNAAB and the family the grace and perseverance to go through this challenging event with great fortitude and emerge victorious.

A good man has gone home; Indeed, a great and enigmatic man has gone home to His maker. As the death of Prof Oluwatosin evokes latent emotions, NSAP family stands in solidarity with our Colleague and Sister Prof (Mrs.) Bamidele Oluwatosin and the entire Oluwatosin / Oduguwa family.    Uncle, you were a man with a quiet spirit and love; you lived a life that exalted your Master’s name. You were a man of faith, wisdom and humility. Your life had portrayed many Christian virtues; that was why the holy spirit pointed your lifestyle to me in the place of prayer early this year. I told my husband we need to learn from prof, especially his ways of dealing with things. He was very open to it, but here we are that time never gave us the opportunity. I have picked the ones I know but would have loved to learn more from God’s given wisdom in you.

    Is it your consistency in the walk and work of God that I will say? What will I say about the destinies that had found expression all because your path crossed their ways? A man of a significant impact that fulfilled his course!

   We will miss you forever and never forget you.

An erudite scholar, father, husband, uncle and most important you were loved by all and you served God with all your heart. My first contact with you was an amazing moment. I could remember time spent with you in Abeokuta and during your numerous visits to UK. Prof as we fondly called you.. You will always be in our hearts.
It's very hard to let you go especially my wife your niece.
Because we will never forget your fatherly love to us and our children Michelle and Matthew.

Brother Seyi was the fovourite name I called you until I later proudly call you Prof.
You are the fun uncle whom i always anticipate his return from the University of Ibadan, your presence always lights up the whole house with joy. How can I forget the story nights? The stories I may not remember but I will never forget your devoted concentration and the sound of your baritone voice to imprint knowledge into us. You were a great teacher and an academia per excellence who impacted all the young ones the family. You helped us to make the best decisions as touching our career. I remember discussing my career change with you a week before your demise, how would I have known that it will be our last heart to heart discussion.

Your words were comforting when spoken, you are an excellent listener no matter what I discuss with you. Prof, you preached contentment and you showed contentment in all aspects of life. You are a cheerful giver, you concern yourself with everything that concerns me. I remember a day I was at your house, you gave me money as you were going to your office and said " I know that you can possibly give me 10 times of this but add it to your transport fee" we both laughed as I walked with you to the door; the sound of your whole hearted laughter I will miss so much. You know I was not in need at the time but you still cared, that is who you are. Many times when I am in financial crisis you will sort me out and repayment is always " payable when able". You have a selfless caring heart. Whenever I call to inform you that I am coming home, you will ask " how is the logistics of getting home?" Many times you provided the logistics of getting home. Your fatherly love never ceased.

How many things do I want to write about? You will forever live in my heart. You have left an enormous vacuum behind. When I called on the fateful morning and I heard you few hours before you left this world, doom and gloom engulfed me in confusion, a few hours later I received the call that you are gone, I was incapacitated with grief. I take solace in the knowledge that you knew and preached Christ and you did not deviate till the end. Adieu daddy till we meet to part no more. GOOD NIGHT MY PRECIOUS PROF.

What a loss to us but Heaven has gained. Prof was a good man, a man of God who had a big heart to all around him. He was a good example to follow, a role model in every good thing. I thank God for the life you lived for others.

So sad to hear of the demise of Professor Seyi Oduguwa Oluwatosin, a junior brother to Pastor Kole Oduguwa. We all lived around St Anne's Church, Molete Ibadan. Went to the same afternoon lessons, same church. What a life, so short. You came, you saw, your achieved, you conquered. May his soul rest in perfect.

Professor Seyi Oduguwa was a younger brother to Pastor Bankole Oduguwa, my childhood friend. We all grew up together at Saint Anne's Church crescent, Molete, Ibadan.
The news of your passing on is a very rude shock to me because if we were to answer the Divine call according to age, people like us ought to go first for we were your elder brother of different parentage. But God understands everything.
We love you but God loves you more.
Continue to rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ till we meet to part no more.
May God Almighty grant your brothers, children, wife and us, your family friends the fortitude to bear your loss.

The gentle "giant" is no more! Huunnnnn! "Giant" in intellect, "giant" in stature and "giant" in action but enormity of his humanity is gargantuan. That's the Professor Oluwatosin (Oduguwa), oluseyi Oluwajubelo that I know. You agreed to supervise my my PhD. You gave me all that i needed. You supplied the imported poults and gave funds for the feeding from day old to 16weeks that I terminated the experiment. I was in your house eating morning, afternoon and night while I continue romancing the turkeys. Much of your funds goes to blood chemical analysis of those turkeys. You handed over to me your Camry pencil car for my research. I used it to the extent that I used it to convey feed from feed mill and also to discard litters. When writing papers and reports, you correct to the last letter. I won't forget the day you told me that 'Achebe, you are too verbose'. All the publications I have today are through your efforts. Prof made me to understand that money is evil and i should not spoil my name with money. You taught me to guard my integrity as much as possible. The last time my family visited you,you gave us a wonderful treat including wine and kókóró. I never knew you were biding us a farewell. Sorrowing, weeping or lamentations cannot bring back my beloved oga that has departed from our midst, but i strongly hope and believe that he is resting peacefully and that is my consolation while i pray for steadfastness and strength for family, relative, friends and students for the fortitude to bear this painful and irreparable loss. A compendium of vitamin and mineral has gone to rest. A turkey expert has gone to rest. A researcher and a prolific writer is gone. My supervisor and friend is gone.

Words has failed me since I heard of your passing Prof. I kept remembering your warm smile and consistent acts of kindness throughout our days at University Chapel. How I came crying to you in my final year over an issue and you comforted me. You were a leader worthy of emulation. There was something so unique about you and Aunty Dele that we desired for our home. Lord please comfort Aunty Dele and the whole family. Sleep on in your master's bossom till we meet to part no more.

I thank God for the Christian life that you lived and the legacy you left behind. We are comforted by the fact that you are not in a better place and have ceased from your turmoil here on earth. May the Lord Himself comfort your family and the communities that you impacted. Adieu Prof
