Aunty mi, I remember the virtues you taught me as a girl, the friendship we had, our fights and your prayers for me each time I called and each time we saw. You so wanted me to be a fashionista like you, in your own words you would say "Toyin, obinrin ni e, oye ko wo earings, Kofi chain sorun, ko make up bi awon egbe e" (Toyin, you are a lady, you should wear earings, chain and make up like your mates). I will turn it to a joke to make you stop and we would laugh over it. I will miss you calling me omoge, I will miss calling you Sisi mama. You were quick to know whenever I was losing weight and would squeeze the reason out of me. You loved to sing and dance, you loved life and above all, you loved God. Your prayers for us even on the phone became unending in your last days unknown to me that it was your way of saying goodbye.
On the morning of your last day, you asked where my dad was and I said in heaven, you apparently were going to meet him that day and I didn't know. Nevertheless, am glad I spent your last days even hour with you.
I will miss you and your drama mama Ade, granny misses you daily but I thank God you have gone to rest in the Lord.
Rest on aunty mi, rest on mama Ade, rest on mother dearest.
