Transition to glory.

Like a butterfly gracing a garden, adding colour and spreading joy with its flutters... our dear sister and friend, Omobolanle Akintoye-Akerele (nee Odutola) has flown away unto glory.

Bubble as she's fondly called, will begin her journey to eternal rest as she'll be committed to mother-earth tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, 2020 by 11am.

Our vivacious, big-hearted, Bubble died on August 12, 2020 after a brief illness.

Born on the 5th of October, 1972... she would have clocked 48 this year.

She is survived by her 2 adorable kids, Timi and Daniel, her husband and family members.

No doubt, she will be missed dearly.

Bolanle meant a lot to so many people in different ways... confidante, pillar, business associate, adviser, galvanizer and more.

She was a very active member on the 'Uniting Unilorin and Friends Forum'.

We pray for the repose of her humble and bubbly soul.

May she find rest, till the day of her resurrection.

Amen.

Bolanle, only God can unravel the mysteries of this world. Aburo atata! You were so down to earth, bubbly, truly loving and respectful, I will definitely miss you at family gatherings. You were taken away at the prime of your life and the news of your passing was definitely a shock.

May God forgive all your sins and grant you eternal rest. May He also comfort and strengthen your husband, Daniel and Timilehin as well as your mum and siblings. May He also comfort the family especially in this pandemic period that limits interaction and makes it difficult to express physical comfort to our loved ones.

You have completed your eathly mission and purpose and have definitely made a memorable impact which hopefully will bring succour to all who will miss your presence, since the good memories you shared with each and everyone of us, is all we have to fill the gap you have left.

One of my fond memories includes a not too distant Christmas holiday period when you took us to some fish pepper-soup place where we all hung out and chatted late into the night with some of the local folks. It was much fun and we discussed different issues, laughing all night until we needed to dodge the mosquitoes and return home. Despite the pain of losing you, this memory like others brings a smile to my face.

Sun ire, aburo rere and continue to be a light to your children, strengthening them each step they take without your earthly presence.

Omobolanleeeee. Hmmm It's so like a dream. You had hope, you trusted that you would see another day. I was waiting for you to read my response to your VN. But you woke up in heaven.... Haaaa Bubble, days of Nursery school through to higher education running through my mind.
You never gave up on me, even with my cold shoulders sometimes. You will always remind me of those little girls whose hands were too short for their ears to start school.

Omobolanle sun re... Heaven has gained a bubbly fellow. God will surely guide Timilehin and Daniel as you have become one of the witnesses cheering them on.

Omobolanle........my dearest bubble. Eyan mi, padi mi. Hmmmmmm.. ...

A good person through and true. So na like this? Na wa ooooo.

Even at the height of it, you had hope. You believed strongly that no matter what, you would come out of the illness, you told me that. You gave it all you could, but alas, death has stung us. And it has taken you away to start another journey entirely away from us in another realm-the ghost land. Surely those in that realm have got something major coming. Though we ain't going to see you physically for a bit no more, your gracious & beautiful memories are well kept in our hearts ❤️.

Not only were you 'bubbly', as your nickname refers, you walked it & lived it- a true personification. You truly cared about the well-being of others & never in any intrusive way too. Your uncommon effervescence was one of kind, you brought joy your way always & you were contagious in the very positive way. You were like that 'big bottle of bubbly' that was always ready to erupt and let out your essence in a fun way! A well iced bottle of sprite that brings joy to the heart. If you were a bottle of 'champagne', you were the purest, the best and the most bubbly of them all. Pop! pop!! pop!!!

You made 'our' forum lively with your well timed, fun and lively interjections and contributions. Your jokes were fun, off the cuff & nice the type that dissipates anger & relaxes. I ll miss your sayings and teachings in Yoruba.

You were never anonymous Lai lai, from the time more than 2 decades ago when I first met you, till you were taken awayva few days back, your magnetic aura always spoke for you and ahead of you, even if you wanted to be quiet and incognito, it was impossible! You were a true force of nature no doubt! Omo nla!

We all shall miss you ooooo, I particularly would do.

Rest my darling, rest, till we meet again on the day of your resurrection.

21 Gun Salute to my personal person.

I write this with great sadness over the unimaginable loss of a close friend and sister to illness. She was 47.
She fought a brave and strong battle for two to three weeks but the illness would not allow her to get better. She took each day in stride, never really complaining, always feeling tired and always hoping that the treatments would finally end so she could get on with her life. This was my hope too.
This beautiful kind hearted woman, inside and out, was a wonderful friend and sister to me, always supporting in every way she could for over 28 years with her gentle and caring nature. One of her beliefs in life was the importance of being authentic with people, saying what needs to be said because it’s good for the relationship and for the soul. She was a wonderful mother to her two children and laid a strong foundation for them. The many people who love her children will watch over them, as she is, and make sure that they have a great life, full of her values and wishes. We will show them pictures and video of happy times,
Lastly, her magnetic smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Her beautiful spirit will live on through her children, and they will always know how much she loved them. She tried with all her heart to stay for them, but God called her, and she had to go.
During my friend’s illness, I know that there were two things that kept her going, her children and hope, otherwise to face another day would have been tough.
Now my hope is that she rest in peace knowing she did all that she could and that her children will be fine. When we love people it’s so comforting to know that they will always be with us in our hearts.
I’ll see you again, my friend, sister....BUBBLE as you were fondly called.
Rest on sis...
