Oscar Hicks, 87, a longtime resident of Creedmoor passed away Tuesday, February 04, 2014 at Peaks Resource of Treyburn.
A native of Person County, the son of the late Bunnie and Eva Hicks. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a retired barber.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 7th at Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-two years, Betty Arnold Hicks of the home, two daughters; Vicky Hicks Cates of Butner, Susan Hicks Miller of Anderson, S.C., one son, Steve Oscar Hicks of Creedmoor, five grandchildren; William Crews III, Christopher Gilliam, Stephen Hicks, Lauren Rigsbee and Katie Miller, four great-grandchildren; Ayden Rigsbee, Peyton Hicks, Emily Crews and Landon Rigsbee.
Flowers are accepted or memorials can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 6th, 2014 at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times the home of Vicky Cates.
