I still can’t believe I am writing a tribute because of your passing. Words cannot explain this difficult moment as I deal with a pandemic and come to term with your death.
I recal the first time I met Uncle Oscar, it was in 1981 and it was at his home in Newark NJ. He had made his home open to me and my mother to not only visit my grandmother - the late Lillian Alberta Beckles but to stay for an extensive length of time. Uncle Oscar you were many things to many people but to me you were one in a million. You were an inspiration and you showed me love. You were always interested in my wellbeing and my accomplishments in live. I consider myself blessed to have lived this life as your niece. You work with the ExPolice Association and the unselfish acts of kindness, always giving, love you shown to the less fortunate and never expecting anything in return was an inspiration to me and one of the reasons I became a Lion.
To my cousins Oscar, Nigel and Desiree you have lost your Dad and I feel your pain but please be reminded of the legacy he has created and left behind to follow so pick the mantle my cousins and forge ahead. He memory will forever live in your minds and be sure to tell all generations of his greatness and the benefits of his hard work for this can serve as living testimonies for many young women and men. His mission on earth have been fulfilled. Thank God for your life and bid you farewell until we met again.
Your niece Simone

Dear Oscar,
Even though I've only known you for a small fraction of your life, I understand that you have had a long-standing connection to the Saul family. You and Aunty Waveney's husband, Gordon Duke, were squaddies in the British Guiana Police Force.
I've found you to be a convivial sort of person. Whenever I called Aunty Sybil, she included you in the conversations and invariably we found something to laugh about. Also you would tell me, "Your aunt is taking good care of me."
So Oscar, as you transition from this world into the next, may the Lord grant you eternal Rest in Peace.
The Ainsworth branch of the family, Karon, Kevin and Wendy join me in expressing sincere condolences to Aunty Sybil and the James family in this time of your bereavement.
Fleur Ainsworth-Greene.

Oscar James – “A GOOD man.”

My beloved husband you were loyal, dependable and honest. Oscar you were reliable and and indeed a very responsible man. To have known YOU was joy forevermore. YOU were the man I loved and spent countless hours revealing the things that made us both happy.  We learned to relax and celebrate each day. Together we discovered  that life rewards those who live it to its fullest.

Oscar you were kind, gracious and intelligent. With you, there was never a dull moment for us. You loved people and people loved you in return. "No one can ever be Oscar James." You were a special person. Your footprints are left for everyone to see. You made a difference in the lives of everyone who knew you. Oscar I will remember you for the rest of my life. This world will never be the same. All  because of YOU.
Thanks for all you’ve taught me.

Your Forever WIFE,
Sybil,

Oscar,
YOU were an exceptional individual. The Good LORD discarded the mold when he made YOU, a unique MAN. Others may try to emulate YOU, but they will never be able to duplicate YOU. I will always remember YOU as a caring, compassionate and considerate FRIEND who has left us, MUCH TOO SOON."
I'm sure that YOU are resting comfortably in the arms of "JESUS."
Rest In Peace, my BROTHER.

EXPO 89 MEETING EXPERIENCE

May 30, 2021
In 1989 I organized a meeting at the Tropical Springs Nightclub in Brooklyn, NY.        This special meeting was to promote EXPO 89, a venture I had orignated to focus on Guyana's products and businesses located here in New York. I had invited three speakers:
      1.      Guyana's UN Representative Hon. Rudy Insanally.
      2.      Former Guyana Police Commissioner Mr. Felix Austin.
      3.      President of Guyana Ex-Police Assoc. of America Mr. Oscar James.
I will never forget the way in which Oscar was able to connect with the audience in a most eloquent manner. He proudly spoke about Guyana, the Expolice Association and the upcoming EXPO 89. Oscar's sincerity, eloquence and exceptional delivery went beyond my expectations that evening. I will never forget the diligence and support he extended toward me and EXPO 89 which thanks to him and others was indeed a success.

I consider myself most fortunate to had the opportunity to have known such an intelligent, sincere and reliable man who I am proud to say was not only my friend but also my "BROTHER FROM A DIFFERENT MOTHER."
