The Election Skirmishes (Such an Angel you are)

December 18, 2012

This i would like to share with every Kenyan who lost their family members, friends or properties  or anything during the 2007-2008 election chaos that was triggered by tribalism. This i share especially with you Rachel because you just brought me back to that moment,  and you were there as well, thank you for the wonderful memorial of Oscar.

Rachel, i remember when hell broke loose and still Oscar was going to Moiben centre, he brought home one of his friends who was taking refuge at the police station over for lunch his name was kariuki or something. I think to myself now, what danger had he exposed himself to when he knew the angry mob would have done if they heard about that, let alone bringing him over for lunch . . . . ? You were a selfless man always compassionate just like mom, what can i say, . . . Your heart was pure and God saw it best to have you for Himself sooner. Watch over us and especially your children, you're my Angel together with mom, till we meet again you'll be...

forever missed . . . . .

Handsome

seeing this picture it reminds me of millie's wedding though I was not there but when I saw the pics on facebook I shared the joy with them because we have been like a family(not related by blood but we are  family)
And I said to myself celina(their late mother)must be smilling in heaven seeing the way her kids are progressing so well! I wish death could be giving a warning Oscar sually I would have travelled to come and bid you goodbye!!But we should rejoice in the lord always and I know now you are united with your mum singing glory in heaven. but it still pains you left us too soon.please watch over us because you are in a better place than us!

The Poison part II (pure poison)

December 18, 2012

Remember the bees i mentioned? . . .  well this brings me to story number two.

Here he was, i think 6,  still not sure. So we were out playing like we did and Oscar got his first taste of a bee sting when he was trying to be kind with them, (he had many stings after that, clearly you can't be kind to bees at a closer range)   So he cried and blah blah blah!!! . My responsibility still. I was a fine trial and error nurse back then, and he was my perfect volunteer patient, only this time  it was too much concotion that made him worse than he could have and mom found out anyways.

So you might be wondering what kind of concotion made his whole face plus head swell up like a balloon ? ? ? . . .
Who remembers Hair glo (the hair gel) and lady gay ( the lotion, and by the way come to think of it why the hell would anyone call a lady's lotion gay? ? ? and the slogan was 'lady gay ladies get noticed' pwahaha!. . . . ) ? . . well lets just say i administered hair glow orally simply because it was sweet like syrup and the lady gay was a topical lotion. enough said what followed was disaster but he survived.

Forever missed . . . . .

The Poison

December 18, 2012

Growing up, I remember when we used to be inseparable, he was always my little brother, he would get lost playing by himself as i kept a closer look on him playing with my friends. he was the quiet  smart and observant one i was the loud, playful nagging sister, just like Dexter and Deedee in Dexter's lab. . . . . he would disappear once in a while and this wasn't hard to predict as he had a strong appetite for food so the kitchen was the most ideal place you'd find him if he wasn't feasting on sand or playing with the bees.

So here is the deal with the poison, . . . .

The reason why i mentioned sand and bees, . . .
There was  this time, we were out playing he was about 3 or 4 i'm not sure so i was about 6 or 7, and him being Oscar made his signature disappearing act. Easy as it is to find him, he was sitting down on the ground his mouth full so i rushed to see what delicacy he was upto this time. My brother was eating some wild, alleged poisonous fruit! . . . . This was not good, one he was under my care outside in the playfield so my mom would kill me, . . yes that was pretty much my job description. Two, i couldn't let him die so i was screwed. I took a handful of sand and stashed in his mouth without thinking, it was just reflex, thank God sand was one of his mouth watering cuisine, the boy took in as much sand as he wanted and i was there to make sure there's no stopping then i realized oh my God! he could choke, i rushed to get him some water to wash down his throat, his belly was now the size of a foot ball and his throat must have been sore because almost immediately he puked everything out including the 'poisonous ' fruit

Maybe not the best way to administer firstaid but it worked, he didn't die of poisoning or maybe it wasn't poisonous, and mom never found out, i doubt he remembered.

Forever missed . . . . .
