I’m so sorry! Have many memories of him growing up in the neighborhood!
So sorry to hear of your families loss. Heartfelt prayers for you and your family.
He was such a positive Uncle to me and my mother Janice will never forget him. He spent many long hours talking with her on the phone in her assisted living residence. A memory now is not what it used to be but she will always remember her brother Butch. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Our deepest condolences on your family’s lost. I never got to me your father, from what I have read in the comments and knowing the type of man he raised, he was a very special person.
Everyone loved Uncle Butch! Darren and Mike - your Dad was a wonderful man. His kindness and generosity will live on in each of you. Please know you all continue to be in our prayers. We will miss him.

Dad's First Reading
Dad had had a huge heart and very charitable ... but he was also was a competitor in sports and life. I remember him saying "We are all playing for the same finish line. I am in the fourth quarter, playing for overtime". For these reasons I believe the following passage my brother picked for dad is perfect. Really hit home ...
2 Timothy
5 You, however, be self-controlled in all things, endure hardship, do an evangelist’s work, fulfill your ministry. 6 For I am already being poured out as an offering, and the time for me to depart is at hand. 7 I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith! 8 Finally the crown of righteousness is reserved for me. The Lord, the righteous Judge, will award it to me in that day—and not to me only, but also to all who have set their affection on his appearing.
