Daddy...l just can't believe l am sitting here and typing an eulogy for you.But daddy, this is not the agreement we had in May 2018,when l came to work in Cameroon.l told you l will come back again for a family visit and we will spend more time together and you joyously agreed. You always wanted our success and celebrated with a loud laughter and a high five when you heard good news.Daddy, do you remember our trip to Wum when l was 9 years old ?Just you and l….?We stopped to see the Menchum Fall, l was so scared but you held my hand and reassured me of my safety.I vividly remember how you protected me like an egg in that car!!.. Daddy, you travelled all the way to Buea to witness my graduation, what about my wedding? You were there from beginning to the end.During every sad and happy moment in my life, l saw you or heard from you.
Daddy, you inspired all of us to be hardworking and to invest in our offspring. You were always on one project or the other.Always working daddy, even our unquestionable creator noticed it and called you to come rest with Him while watching the flourishing of the seeds you have planted.
Daddy, you always spoke lengthily with your sister.Did you tell her about this heart throbbing sojourn of no return of yours?
Mami will talk about her brother when the cock crows and her brother when its dusk. Her brother when akwa is not pounded hot and her brother when the soup is poorly seasoned..At least 365 mentions of “When l was living with my brother” per year from mami.Daddy, for bringing up a woman of mami's calibre, you deserve an accolade and that you will get whether alive or dead. You have left behind a sea of power houses,a huge vacuum in our hearts and above all, undeniable inspiration for discipline, responsibility bravery, generosity and integrity.
Goodnight Legend of inestimable value. You have indeed fought the good fight.Adieu Daddy.
