His Life

Biography

May 11, 2014

Pa Aaron Achiri was born in Baba II, on January 3rd, 1941 to Pa Lucas Kaka & Maria Mogoh of blessed memory. He was raised by Pa Asanji (Pa Sanitary) and wife Mami Julia Meukobu Asanji of blessed memory. During his early years, Papa Achiri attended  primary school in Batibo, and Mbengwi, and upon his completion of this early education, he was admitted into the prestigious All-Boys School  CPC Bali. While in CPC, he was a distinctive student. Upon his completion of his secondary education he graduated with distinction which earned him a scholarship in the prestigious Cuttington University in Liberia .(1964-1967) (the college was founded by the Episcopal church in the USA in 1889 as such the oldest private ,coeducational, four years degree granting institution in sub saharan Africa). Pa Achiri graduated with distinction and honors with a bachelor degree in Economics. He couldn't leave Liberia without leaving a reason to go back, so he left his footprint (Aaron Achiri Jr.), before returning to Cameroon.

Upon his return to Cameroon with a secured job waiting him, Papa did not relent in his pursuit for knowledge. In his early career years, he was a Custom Officer, then Veterinarian, and an Administrative Officer. As it was always the case with Papa, he decided to try out the entrance into the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM). He passed the entrance exam and later on graduated as an Inspector of Labour and Social Insurance. With so much zeal and hard-work, he was appointed the Delegate of Labour and Social Insurance for the North-West Province & the South-West Province as well. Due to his insatiable quest to attain greater heights and his competence, he secured the position as the National Director of Labour and Social Insurance.

Papa was such a gentle and sweet talker. He courted and secured a place in the heart of the Princess of Baforchu - Margaret Moma and won her over to be the wife of his life. They are blessed with four soft talkers like him; Roland; Kate; Rudolf & Achiri and are blessed with numerous grand children.

Papa was widely respected by his peers like Late Dr. Asanji of blessed memory, Rev. Dingwan, Late Pa TT Fonta, Mr. Eddy Mesumbe, former PM Simon Achiri Achu, and many others because of his humility. His BOBAN classmates from the graduating class of 1963 remember Pa as a very funny, sociable, very smart, a man full of life, and a man of integrity.

Papa was a generous man, he will never hesitate to give a helping hand to who ever needed help. His staff at the Delegation of Labour and Social Insurance  knows him as the simplest boss anyone could ever ask of. As Delegate, he dined and wined with his chauffeur and yard man. Papa was so down to earth and that no one in his entourage will know who was the driver and who was the boss.

Papa is survived by his wife Mami Maggie, many kids and sixteen grand children, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews and nieces.

"Boyz" we'll surely miss you. You're physically absent, but you will live in our hearts forever.

Adieu Papa!
