Deeply saddened by Parmender’s passing. When in Miami, we were brothers in research and all aspects of life, and our conversations made the work environment very pleasant. Parmender led a life of quality, devotion, passion, and love. I am fortunate to have had him in my life. Condolences to Manju, Pankaj, Pooja, and entire family.

Vinata and Bal Lokeshwar
Our deepest sympathy to Manju, Pankaj, Pooja and family. So many memories going as back as nearly thirty years. Were those the memories of dinner parties that we had or the game of carrom or the discussions that we had about politics. Were those the memories when talked about experiments in the hallways of Rosensteil building in Miami or the reagents that we borrowed as all of us were starting out? Were those the memories of prostate cancer group where we could discuss any crazy ideas among friends, or was it the memory of all us getting together in Desh and Lata’s house, anxiously awaiting the arrival of 21st century? Memories of Gazals, and old movie songs, of Rajama and Bhaturas, of God and after life, of being peaceful about any and everything that life brings. Memories of your gentle and kind nature, admiration and not jealousy about your peer’s success and a peaceful contented smile. Paramender you will live in our memories…. Taal Pe Taal Mila, Aaja Mil Ne Ki Aas Hai….Ek Baar Wapas Aaja

Dr. MEHTA, as me and Romi (my wife) know him personally from our association at UNMC, was a gem of a person by heart and a very supportive individual. Will miss his collegiality as a colleague and friend. Imbibed some of his traits to appreciate nature, always.
Miss you Sir, and Rest in peace!

Dear Dr.Mehta,
I had met you and Manjuji only once when we visited Omaha to celebrate Janak Uncle's (Bhavna's dad) 90th birthday - but you and Manjuji left lasting impression on me -- Your harmonica play and a short talk I had with you and Manjuji was enough to reflect your inner self -- My deepest condolence to Manjuji and family

"The Noble Soul"
Today if I look back and think about you,
I see a self made man and yes that’s true!!!
A man of his words, his thoughts and his principles,
How can I forgot whatever talks which we had were so sensible.
Every word which you shared had a deep meaning,
All your thoughts had a spiritual weaning.
I still remember your face, always calm and composed,
The aura you carried had positivity enclosed.
You were the most self contended person I know;
It’s your kindness and love which we all owed.
It was too early for you to be invisible,
What to do, God plans are always invincible!!!
But you will always stay alive in our hearts,
Your presence within us will never get apart!!!
Love you Uncle and miss you always
Mitu

Dr. Mehta,
Both myself, Shikhar Saxena, and my wife, Kristin Saxena, had you as a teacher at UNMC. What I will most remember about you is not your lectures, but how kind and warm you were as a person. Your smile was infectious.
May you rest in peace and condolences to your family.

Parmender P. Mehta, I can’t believe you were taken away this soon, my friend. It’s quite heartbreaking. You were a great researcher, a great teacher and above all a loving & caring man. Can’t forget the musical evenings where you played Harmonica real professional especially “Mere Sapanomki” & me accompanying you on guitar. Thanks for teaching me how to do great Southern blots, Northern’s & Westerns. Will never forget you bringing two sandwiches for lunch & always offering me one. My humble prayers for Manju, Pankaj, Pooja & the greater family. Parmender P. Mehta Manju Mehta Pooja Mehta
