This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Pasquale DeSiervi 79 years old , born on October 29, 1939 and passed away on December 23, 2018. The love of his life Joanne Brooks was by his side.

Pat was a true New Yorker thru and thru.  He moved to California in the 1960's to help his Aunt Elsie and Uncle Romeo Salto with Chianti's in Hollywood. There Pat developed the restaurant bug and love of the business. Pat was fortunate enough to meet Fred Astaire, Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra and Johnny Carson to name a few of the starts that frequented Chianti's.

Pat's dream was to bring New York Italian table side cuisine and New York pizza to the west coast.  He wanted to mimic the wonderful Iomio family Sunday dinners.  He offered a place people can call home and feel like part of the family.  He began with Pasquale's in Thousand Oaks, California and then opened Chianti's in Vancouver, Washington.  Many remember him as "Pizza Pat" from New York, NY in Portland, Oregon.  His last adventure was Napoli Restaurant in Milwaukie, Oregon.

Andrea and Jeremy gifted him a sign that said it all:

" Enter as strangers and leave as friends".

In Pat's younger years he enjoyed playing drums, swing dancing, gambling, and golfing.  He felt blessed by his two children Joey and Dina.

Pat loved us all and will be missed.  He is survived by his children Joey , Dina and Eddie DeSiervi.  The love of his life,Joanne Brooks and their children Teresa Daggett, Steve Rau, Brian Brooks, Darin Brooks, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

 We will remember him forever.

I remember him fondly. He took a chance on me, no restaurant experience, yet he hired me for his place in SW Portland, Chianti Ristorante. 1990. Lasted a year or so. LocationLocationLocation! But fun times. That last night: just Pat, the dishwasher and me( I became a waiter!) three tables.

I am so sorry to hear this. If I could be there this weekend I would. He was a force of nature, a character in every sense of the word and a truly lovely man. His legacy lives on in you and your brother. Love and light Dina, my thoughts are with you.

What a beautiful tribute to your sweet dad. I loved reading and learning more about him, and am grateful that I had the opportunity to meet and visit with him. I loved sharing stories with him about his time in NY as well as my (Italian) dad’s time growing up there. Our families had many similarities being NY Italians, though from different boroughs. Looking forward to spending time with you soon. I’m sure he’s looking down on you with love and admiration for all you’ve done.
