Leighton David  Smith was  the  fourth child  born t o Noel and  Aneita Smith, on Sept 3, 1958, in Higgin  Town,St. Ann.  A very brillant young man he excelled academically, and at an early  age he took over the family business, and then choose to operate a mini bus piling routes to and  from  Kingston to  Portland, and  to other parishes,   In  1982  he  was diagnosed  with  "Hodgins's disease, but  after he  held on to  God's word " By his  stripes  I'm healed", he was miraculously    healed.
He migrated to  the  United States  and been the ambitious and  fairless   person   he was, he  started own  business   Prompt  Courier Service  in the   heart of the financial  district. At   5  Beekman  St, New York,in  his office   he  started  a bible  study with   5 people, from  there  through  much  opposition  and set backs,  his  endearing and unwavering   faith   broke through all the odds and  he moved  the  flock   to the current  location  - Faith Evangelistic  Ministeries-FEM,  The   home of " Prophecy, Healing and Deliverance". The  countdown   Program   wihich  he  hosted  for over  14  years, on WMCA 570 AM , continues to be   aired  every  friday   nights, at 11.AM,  in  New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He   was also founder of the Countdown Ministeries, Higgin Town, St Ann Jamaica
 
Pastor Smith  up the time   of  his  graduation ot higher service was  the  presidents  of   the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. - New York  chapter. He  was also the   author of the  must read  book "Say No  To the  Mark".  Pastor Smith   travelled  extensively  to many nations, as  he  preached the end  time  message.   He had a  strong  anointing to  teach the uncompromised  word of God. He    was  known to  tread  on  unchartered  waters , and expose the  lies and  deceptions of the enemy. What  a  true servant of God he was. He  truly  taught  us how to live and die in  Christ,
His legecy, FEM,  Countdown Ministeries , Higgin Town, St. Ann  Jamaica, and the Coundown Radio Program, will be   cherised and carried on by Marjorie- wife, Mother ,Aneita, Sisters, Dawn, Evelyn & Donnette, Brothers, Heron,  Bevon, Delroy& Denton, Nephews, Neices, Cousin.  The" sickitivity"  FEM  partners, radio  audience, and  host of  others whose  lives  have been eternally
impacted by Pastor Leighton Smith.  To  you our  husband,  son, brother, pastor, we salute you for  having  ran  your   race, and finished  strong,
We will  remember  your  words_ continuity, stickitivity & unity.  The many years you  teaching, will  not be  forgotten. VICTORY IS INEVITABE. WE  WILL  OVERCOME BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND THE WORDS OF OUR TESTIMONY,
