Pat will always be remembered by our family as OUR Midwife and friend. My husband and I both recall Pat saying that our son's birth in March '79 was her first home birth. The Doctor slept through the whole event but Pat was my Angel, getting me through the long and difficult birth. Pat was my midwife for two more births, always soothing my fears. If I had a health issue or question, she was always there - people tend to take shameless advantage of nurses this way! Though she warned me away from her profession, Pat was a major influence that led me into nursing and I got to work with her daughter for a time. There's so much more I can remember - talks of babies, breastfeeding, homeschooling, gardening, healing, sweat lodges, Susun Weed and so on - it's all part of me now and I feel so blessed! Thank you Dear One - I'll always think of you in the garden, feel you in the trees and at work, when my patient needs some encouragement, I'll hear that crazy laugh of yours!
