The Memorial Service for Patricia McKeown will be held on Saturday November 16, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ann Arbor, MI at 11am.  There will be a reception following.

Obituary

Patricia Marian McKeown, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in the early morning hours of November 7, 2013. She was a 22 year cancer survivor. Born in Detroit, MI on April 16, 1934 she was a graduate of Detroit's Dominican High School and Michigan State University, earning her degree in Education and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. While at MSU, she met the love of her life Joseph A. McKeown. They were married on January 5, 1957 at the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, MI. The couple spent their honeymoon skiing in Vermont then departed separately for Japan where her husband "Jay" was to be stationed.

She was a devoted elementary school teacher at both the US Army base in Japan and in the Detroit School district.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother she enjoyed boating, traveling and time with her family and friends. She traveled much of the world with her children and grandchildren, but enjoyed her time in Ann Arbor and on or around the Great Lakes the most.

She is survived by her husband, her children Joe McKeown, Cathy Miller and Mike McKeown and their children, Meredith and James McKeown, Megan and Emily Miller and Ryan and Erin McKeown.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Florence and Milton Fuehrer, and her brother Milton Fuehrer of Basalt, CO.

A memorial service is planned for November 16, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Church located at 2250 E Stadium Blvd Ann Arbor, 48108 at 11am, with a reception following.
