Reflections

August 6, 2021
Patricia Lynn Howard King was born on March 28, 1964 to the late James and Geneva Howard of Atlanta, Georgia. Patricia completed her education in the Atlanta Public School System, graduating from Sylvan Hills High School, class of 1982. After graduation, she was employed with the Dobbs House Restaurant. In later years, she became a dental assistant and worked faithfully until her employer retired. At Georgia Urology, she continued to pursue work in the medical field; later switched gears and joined the “Eagle Group.” She held many positions over the years and was dedicated in each role. However, she will forever be remembered for her in -home day care service, By Faith Daycare. Dozens of children loved “Pat Pat” and received much TLC from her loving hands. During her employment at the Dobbs House, Patricia met and married Kelvin King; to this union they were blessed with two incredible sons, Kelvin “Bo Bo” King and Kelly J. King. Patricia is known for her servant’s heart and dedication to her family and community. She was always found behind the scenes, in the kitchen preparing delicious meals, setting up or cleaning after events. Her love for cooking became a passion that evolved into an online restaurant. She thoroughly enjoyed bringing joy to so many people. Patricia was born into a household of faith, but accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at a very young age. She felt the call of the Lord to minister and was formally ordained. Speaking outwardly was not her interest, however, serving young people was where she spread her wings and soared! Patricia led the children’s church at Enon Baptist Church of College Park and later at Christian Church at East Point. Patricia cherished, instructed, and demonstrated the life of Christ to countless youth. She led through service to others, worked hard to make a difference in whatever environment she was positioned and encouraged others to do the same. Among the many people grieving the loss of Patricia, those left behind are her husband, Kelvin King; daughter, Shonda O’share (Tive); sons, Kelvin “Bo Bo” and Kelly King (Chandra); grandkids: Salvadore Vazquez, Tiana Vazquez, Alexia Vazquez, Kennedy King and Kaleb King; siblings: Jimmy Howard, Pamela Graham (Alphonso), Jeffery Howard and Jarral Howard. Also, several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters in Christ, dear friends and a multitude of young men and women, who considered Patricia as a second mom.
