Student’s letter to Ms. Pat
March 28, 2021
My mother truly found purpose and meaning in her work with kids. Since 1988 she worked for the Hamilton DOE, including at AIM. I’m not sure where/when/ who this letter is from, but it certainly paints a picture of the impact she had on her ‘kids.’
When she started to get increasingly sicker in September 2020, she was heartbroken over (the possibility) of not being able to return to in-school work. A lot of the conversations over the fall and winter was about her work, and if she made a difference, and she really felt she did. This letter is one she held onto for a long time, I found it in her wicker chest from the 70s, where she stored her personal items.
