This memorial website was created in the memory of my grandmother, Patricia Loretta Kreuzburg, 87, born on April 5, 1924 and passed away on September 9, 2011. I will remember her forever. I read the following poem at Nan's wake:
When the Rose is Faded ~ by Walter de la Mare
When the rose is faded
Memory may still dwell on
Her beauty shadowed,
And the sweet smell gone.
That vanishing loveliness
That burdening breath
No bond of life hath then,
Nor grief of death
.
'Tis the immortal thought
Where passion still
Makes the changing
Unchangeable.
Oh, thus thy beauty,
Loveliest on earth to me,
Dark with no sorrow, shines
And burns, with thee.

The Lotto!
Anyone who knows nan knows she loved her tickets and her bingo! Scratch tickets, pull tabs, and her famous lotto numbers, which never won her more than 10 bucks, lol. Nan always said she wanted to win the lotto, but not for her, she always said it was "for her children".
Once when we went to bingo, I won half of a satellite bingo, close to a $1000. Nan was appalled that they didn't come straight to me with the money, and it wasn't long before she was out of her seat asking when I would get the money. She was a little disappointed when they said I would get a cheque in the mail, lol. She was more excited than I was, lol.
Love
I always knew Nan loved me, because she made sure that I knew. She showed interest in everything I did for as long as I can remember, and always believed in me. She was protective and always defended me. She always prayed for my happiness and health.
She was generous with gifts, and I think my favorite one was an electric typewriter that she gave me when I was in junior high. It made her so happy to make me happy and I will never, ever forget that.
I love you and miss you, Nan.
P.S. I still love watching the Golden Girls like we used to :) xxxxoooo
