1940 graduates from St James grade school

April 5, 2014

Reunion from high school, 2004 in Kenosha.

They were all 1940 graduates from St James grade school.

Pictured is Ann, Pat, Gloria Wehner, and Peggy.

Gloria lives near downtown on the east side of Milwaukee.

She is a longtime member of Old St. Mary Parish, also in downtown Milwaukee.

I see her and talk with her regularly at the 9:00 am Mass on Sunday morning.

For Lorna, Tom, Peter and David,

I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing, I have kept her in my mind and prayers for many years. I wish I had visited her more often these last few years. My deepest condolences to Lorna, Tom, Peter and David. I remember the many slumber parties and weekend visits to your lovely house and was always welcomed with warmth and kindness. Your house always did have the most wonderful art pieces. I also remember the many baseball games we went to and while Tom and Mario were playing, Pat and my mom worked at the concession stand. My mother remembers her fondly also. The parties at the University Club were epic! True "Mad Men" living in the "60's. Growing up in Mexico City and being a part of that city's changes will always be remembered: From being part of the Olympics there to watching the military "tanks" roll down Reforma, was truly historic! And who can forget the beautiful Christmas lights, plaza Garibaldi's mariachis, and the blue tiled Sanborns. I look forward to celebrating your mother's life this Saturday.

Love, and blessings,

Dear Lorna,

I'm so sorry for your and your family's loss.  Please extend my deepest condolences to all, and thank you for the wonderful collage celebrating Pat's life.  It has brought back so many wonderful memories of our families' lives in Bogotá and México. I cherish the special friendships we all made during those years . . . and happily still maintain.

So (as Gaynel said) thank you for keeping me in your circle!

With deep affection,

Rachel

I remember that David and I were the lucky children in our family when we visited Uncle Tom and Aunt Pat with our parents Bill and Eileen about 1956.  We drove around the city in Uncle Tom's sporty convertible MG, went to a bullfight and  listened to Tennessee Ernie Ford's music and probably a lot of other jazz.  And then in 1965 when we moved to Mexico City, Aunt Pat, helped my Mom and our family adjust, in so many ways, to her city.  Whenever Aunt Pat and Eileen were together, I loved hearing them laugh together and always remained amazed that they sounded so much alike.  I hope they are laughing together now.

Love, Cynthia

Dear Lorna and family,

I didn't have the priviledge of knowing your parents and WOW, I wish I had.  What adventurous and amazing people they were.  Thank you for sharing the wonderful pictures of your parents  and story about your mom and dad.  You have put together a wonderful tribute to them and their life.  Thank you for sharing it .

LORNA'S MOM

February 17, 2014

As I reflect, I lived in Mexico at the same time Lorna and her family lived there. We both liveed up on the Toluca highway, several miles from Mexico City and so we had that in common and we would occasionally get together on the weekends and Lorna's mom was always so kind and joyful.  She had a cute little laugh that I won't ever forget and such a gentle spirit about her.

I know that my own mother often partied at the same socials as Pat and Pat was always well-liked and fun to be around.

When I hear Lorna laugh, I still hear her mother's chuckle and continued spirit.  She will be missed.

Thank you for keeping me in your cirlce; it is an honor to share a few words about her.

Regards,
Gaynel Tritt Bryan
