My dearest sister, Aunty Pattie! I miss you.... I have no words to capture the love I have for you. Where do I begin? You are my one and only today and through eternity. I had the honor of being your sister. I recall the many years we shared as friends, partners, soulmates in God's love; my heart yearns for my dearest sister. I celebrate you today and always. Thank you for the woman you taught me to be. You are a true example of a BIG sister, mother, confidant, and friend with uncompromising compassion and love. I was so grateful to have experienced that love. Your love engulfed my very essence for 47 years. You lifted me up and stood by me as I navigated life.
Through your love and compassion, I discovered myself, I found grace, and confidence to become a woman of substance in growing closer to God. In you, I experienced boundless joy and laughter. You taught me the lessons of life and how to navigate difficult times with courage and forgiveness. Oh, Aunty Pattie, my heart aches. I appreciate you; I love you; I miss you. YOU have always been an exemplar of perseverance. That is what I hold onto now. With that, I move forward in knowing your light still shines within me and in all of us. I see that perseverance spirit in your children. I couldn't be prouder of them; they are a true inspiration. The flame of love you shared with them and in all of us propels each of us forward. Onward we go my dearest sister with everlasting joy of you and the gits you shared, thank you. May your soul rest in perfect peace. Amen

MISSING PATRICIA UDECHUKWU EMEKA

Resilience, Unbridled Generosity, Indomitability, Power, Presence, Gusto and unabashed Expression of Love. These are just the few words that come to my mind that describe Patricia, Udechukwu Emeka.

It is really, really saddening to entertain the notion that she is no longer here to speak for herself or be herself. But I have had the privilege of knowing her, in very close range, as a person, my adopted daughter and a sister in law since she was 10 years old. What is expressed hereunder is the essence and distillation of my life experiences with Patricia.

Patricia did not permit any situation to keep her down. She was extremely Resilient under the most adverse conditions that most people would buckle under. Like a cork under water, she always rose to the top of the occasions, no matter the situation. Whatever challenges she had did not keep her from making life happen for herself and her family.

Generosity, in its most unbridled format, is what anyone who knew Patricia would ascribe to her. She gave to anyone, not to mention family members, without regards to her own self preservation, even when she was down and out. She gave very generously and graciously.

Indomitability of mind-body and spirit is most evident in any encounter with Patricia. You would have no doubt about who and what Patricia stood for, in all circumstances. You would know her positions. She declared them, without equivocations. She had beliefs and she lived by them.

Power and the projection of life energy are apparent when you engaged Patricia. She did everything energetically and unreservedly. What you saw was what you got! When you left Patricia's presence, you would have some memory of the experience, because it was often emotionalized. Patricia lived passionately.

Presence is felt when someone's aura encompasses the space one share with others. Patricia had a personality that filled any space she occupied. She had majesty in her carriage and mien, without pretentiousness. Patricia was definitely charismatic and it exuded from her person, naturally.

Gusto describes how Patricia lived life. She expressed what life gave her with grandeur and ebluence. Patricia granted and expected of everyone she encountered the same experience of the good life as herself, even if she had to make provisions for that reality. She lived and shared life fully, at all times, with her brand and flair.

Love for Patricia meant being unabashed and extremely vulnerable in her expression of connectedness to her family, friends and all. She spoilt everyone everyone in her orbit. For those she loved you know and feel that you are a “sweetie” with Patricia. She called people “honey” easily, and made up unique and fun sounding pet names, for close friends and relatives.
We will surely miss Patricia in her physical presence. However, she left all of us with her spiritual essence that would be remembered eternally.
We cherish with gratitude the gift of her life to us from God, as we pivot to the future with Alex, Juju and her husband Emmanuel Sr.
Patricia and her dreams will live on. We shall all share in the Manifestation of her dreams, with God's grace.

After reading the tributes and looking through the pictures and hearing people speak, I feel quite certain Patricia's Family will remember that she lived her life as a hero to her family every year during a weekend when the nation remembers its fallen hero's. May GOD grant eternal peace to her soul.

I was shocked beyond belief when I heard the news about your demise. I was not prepared for such devastating news. You were a loving and benevolent sister that was always there, especially in times of tribulation. I cannot quite describe the depth of the hole your passing has left on my heart, but I accept the will of God in this matter as God is at liberty to take his creation when it suits him. I cannot imagine the shock your husband and children will feel as there was no warning or time for reflection. May your soul rest in the bosom of the Lord my dear sister-in-law.

I always called you "Ms. Patricia" or "little sister" but as I look at the photos, I remember our long talks over the phone where you would tell me about your wishes and hopes for the boys. I remember the talks we had about life as I drove you back to school and the many long conversations we had in the basement of 5799. You always cared so much about so many and so many things. My little sister, I will really miss you but, in this sadness, my only solace is that I know you are now at peace and rested after the journey of life.
