To Patrick's family please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Patrick was a dear friend, colleague and coworker.
Such passion for knowledge, learning and sharing; whether his Irish heritage, Villanova Wildcats, martial arts or field of echocardiography I was always left learning something and laughing hard. Sharp wit, dripping sarcasm and always ready to share something completely out of the blue. So many lives touched and impacted by Patrick. Senpai Pat will be truly missed at the Tiger Kang dojo. We will miss his smiling face and great leadership. He was such a nice and kind man with a good heart. It won’t be the same with out him at TKK. May he rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.

Patrick has left a legacy in the field of ultrasound that will not soon be forgotten. He was so bright and had an incredible memory. I could always count on Patrick for a quick laugh or even better yet at an in person event we would look at each other and chuckle. It was a privilege to work with him and moreover to call him friend.

Patrick was an outstanding gentleman with a warm personality, a great sense of humor, and a respected member of the echocardiography community. He was always ready and willing to share his immense knowledge especially in the area of pediatric echo. Countless people have benefited from his teachings and knowledge. He will be missed greatly. I wish his family much peace and offer my sincere condolences.

Sometimes events conspire in your life to create family from your work colleagues. Patrick became a de facto little brother during our years at CHOP and remained a close friend and part of my family. We grieved with him in losing Rhonda and then again in the heartbreaking loss of Meg. Patrick and I worked on research and articles, lectures and courses and always had so many laughs putting things together, we both truly enjoyed the field of echocardiography . I am crushed at his sudden death. So much talent and life left to live. I will miss you my friend, and our hours long catch up conversations and the many laughs shared. Sincere condolences to his Brothers and sister and Chris and her children. May the Road Rise Up to Meet You my friend….

I have read the accolades, from those of you who worked with Pat, on his incredible abilities to educate providers on sonography, especially pediatric echocardiology.  Pat’s ability to educate and transform others was also on display in his presence as a Blackbelt at Tiger Kang Karate. Sempai Pat as we called him, was able to impart the teachings of the dojo to members of all belt levels, working to ensure that the skill set taught that night was honed correctly. I appreciated each time Sempai Pat showed me a technique and then a way to make slight modifications so that those of us his age or older could be successful. Sempai Pat was always smiling and always quick with a humorous comment. His presence will be greatly missed, his teaching always remembered. Sympathies and condolences to all of Pat’s family.
