This news makes me very sad, I used to be very close with Patrick but we lost touch over the last couple of years. I'm going to miss Patrick and will always have fond memories of our time together at Goddard.
The leaves fall, fall as from far, Like distant gardens withered in the heavens; They fall with slow and lingering descent.
And in the nights the heavy Earth, too, falls From out the stars into the Solitude.
Thus all doth fall. This hand of mine must fall And lo! the other one:—it is the law. But there is One who holds this falling Infinitely softly in His hands.
This poem is in the public domain. From Poems (Tobias A. Wright, 1918), translated by Jessie Lamont.
I light a candle fondly for Patrick, as we shared fondness in life. I miss his humor and his love of dogs. I will keep him in prayer, though I am sure he is already there in Heaven watching our tomfooleries with his everpresent smile.
Ed thank you for sharing the pictures - they are wonderful. Patrick was an excellent instructor and he came to Learning Tree in the best way possible - as a former student who liked what he experienced so much that in 2012 he decided to join the Learning Tree family. It is very touching that a number of the pictures are from Learning Tree locations. I didn't get to know Patrick as deeply as I have gotten to know some of our other instructors, but all my experiences with him were positive and he is definitely going to be missed. I am very thankful that you and Patrick both got to know Octavia so well.
Patrick was my best friend. He was a brother. We worked so many places and had many adventures. He died on 2-27-2019. It was a sudden heart attack. He did not suffer. He was a remarkable man. Always trying new things. He had many friends. I tried to contact you all. If I missed you I am sorry. Please enjoy this site. It shows the wonderful life Patrick had.
