As a former friend of Patrick Lico,
I would think of him often. Since the early to mid 2000s year
I use to help him with odds and ends when I lived in Kearny. I drove him to visit his friend Mr Solano former firefighter of Kearny and to his daughters home in Brooklyn.
We had a fall out many years ago with some personal issues but I still
Seen him as a life time friend.
I remember helping him move out of his home in Kearny to his apt in North Arlington. Shortly after that was the last time we spoke to each other. I remember how much he loved Christmas time and with all the decorations ect. He wrote me a poem one day about a pet squirrel that I had been caring for in the park,The poem was a special one. Pat has now moved on to bring joy and smiles to a much higher platform in the heavens above. He will be missed Take care Pat Mission accomplished your friend Eddie ️

So sorry to learn of Pat's passing. As a close cousin of Lucille's, we sat Pat quite often. I have cherished a poem that he wrote about my father. Although we lost touch after Lucille passed, my husband Bob and I will remember him fondly for being kind and funny. He always made us smile. Rest in peace.

Dear Nicole and Family, So sorry to hear of the passing of your wonderful father and my dearest friend . He truly was a fabulous human being gifted with musical talent as well as a beautiful man of words and letters expressed in the many many poems he has written. Pat surely deserves the tiltle of " Poetry Man " as their are very few who could come close to his poetic and lyric ability .. However Pat's greatest attribute was his capacity to love and make those around him experience his warmth and compassion and love for them in so many ways .. Pat was my best friend and my lyricist and musical collaborator and some day we will meet in heaven and pick up on our musical collaboration where we left off here on earth . My family and myself love Pat and his family and we pray for all of you at this time of your mourning .

Our sincere condolences to our cousins. Your father was always fun to see at our Solano/Lico reunions. Always with a guitar and a song or poem. My wife Mary Anne and I are both cousins of Pat. Mary Anne through the Martone side and me through the Lico side. He will be missed.

My life is better for knowing Pat. He was truly a great man and someone I was proud to call my friend. I worked with him at Kearny Shop-Rite years ago and I'll always cherish the good times we had there, but what will always be special to me was my visits to see him and Lucille as we would sit and watch our beloved Yankees and have a drink and dinner and just talk. They were both special people! I'm glad I had the chance to talk to Pat earlier this year and check in on him and see how he was doing. I'll miss him but I know he is finally re-united with his Lucille! My sincere condolences to the family.

I'm missing the man with the enormous heart.

April 15, 2021
I knew of Pat Lico before I knew him and I came to know the man in my early adult years.
The first thing I realized about Pat was his genuine warmth toward everyone and his willingness to be a friend.
As we all do, we lost touch for many years and a gap in or friendship occurred, enter Facebook in or about 2019.
At this point I'm in my mid 70's and Pat is 9-10 years my senior, I decided out of nowhere to look for Pat on FB....This was a wonderful New Beginning for the two of us.
I so wish it would have lasted much longer but I'm so, so glad we were able to share so much in the short time we were given.
In conversation I shared my daughters cancer diagnoses with Pat, not more than an hour later there was a beautiful "Poem for Kimberly". Tears? You bet!

Let me cut this story short because I could go on all day about this warm wonderful man whom I am proud to say I Love, and say words I have said once before for one whom I loved that had passed but they are again very fitting here:

Pat Lico, If you knew Pat and didn't love him, YOU DID NOT KNOW HIM. I love you Pat.

                                      Patrick Our Poet
Our family has a poet,
I know him as my cousin Pat.
He has been blessed with the gift of words,
And we are all so grateful for that!

So many things he’s written,
With feelings all these years.
Words of joy and happiness,
And of our sorrows, heartaches and fears.

His words are full of meaning,
About our family memories- old and new.
Our family has a poet,
And that poet Patrick- is you!
