His Life

A Working Man

March 19, 2011

Pat was a true working man. He would do most anything to make an honest dollar, but his claim to fame was roofing. Pat began roofing at a young age, and became a true master of it. His preference was hot roofing, but he also did shingles and roll roofing. Pat was also a carpenter, and plumber, and he liked to do electrical wiring. Pat was the only electrician I knew who would work on things hot, he would not cut the power before changing a light switch, or an electrical outlet. Pat also did yard work, landscaping, and he enjoyed making his yard look beautiful, with flowers and little ornaments. Pat was always a joy to work around, he was always joking, and in a good mood, even on the hottest days up on a roof. His favorite saying to any new employee was, "Don't fall off, your paycheck stops halfway down!" He was also fond of telling people to "Grab that shovel, the only thing wrong with it is a bad motor"
