Patsy Ruth Davis Edwards, 69, a resident of 1203 Highway 158, Oxford, NC, passed away at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Dewey R. and Ellen Reece Davis.  She was a member of Peaces’ Chapel Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Friday, October 14, 2011 at Peaces’ Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Bruce Brooks.  Burial will be in church cemetery.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, James R. Edward of the home, a daughter, Chonnie Edwards of Oxford, two sons, James R. Edwards, Jr. and Zachary Edwards, both of the home, a sister, Christine Robbins of Stem and five grandchildren.  She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. 

Visitation will be held 7:00 – 8:30 PM, Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and other times at the home.
