Patsy Ruth (Hendrix) Blackburn, of Wilson, departed this life on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 25 days. Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson with Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Patsy was born on February 26, 1936 in Wilson, Ok to the late Mr. William Otis Hendrix and Mrs. Juanita (Marutzky) Hendrix.

Patsy was born and raised in this area. She had remained in the Wilson area her entire life. She attended Wilson Public Schools. Patsy married Mr. Dwain Benson Blackburn on March 25, 1954. Patsy was a devoted homemaker and mother. She loved quilting, sewing, and knitting. She and Dwain enjoyed square dancing and she would make most of their outfits. Patsy also loved her peacocks and hummingbirds. Dwain preceded her in death on March 2, 2018.

Also preceding her in death is her parents; daughter, Glenda Elaine Blackburn; and two brothers, Haskell and Kenneth Hendrix.

Patsy is survived by her son, David Blackburn and wife Pam of Wilson; grandchildren, Christopher Dale Blackburn, Kara Ann Burden and husband J.D. and Daniel Dylan Harvey; great grandchildren, Lexis Rae Ann Hicks, Christopher Shawn Ryne Hicks, Bentley Faith Hicks, Daniel Paul Harvey, Dwain Dylan Harvey, and Glenda Rene Harvey; numerous other relatives and friends.

Serving as casket bearers will be Chris Blackburn, Jammy Shaw, Kara Burden, J.D. Burden, Dylan Harvey, and Kyle Hacker.

Honorary casket bearers will be Lexis Hicks, Christopher Hicks, Bentley Hicks, Daniel Harvey, Dwain Harvey and Glenda Harvey.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00P.M. on Friday at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
