Dr. Paul Michael Derderian, age 52, of Grand Blanc, Michigan went to be with his Lord, on June 4, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Paul was born in Flint Michigan on January 4, 1959 to Dr. Sarkis and Helen Derderian. Paul attained a Bachelor of Science degree from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, MI and received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He did his internal medicine residency at Flint Osteopathic Hospital, and then completed two fellowships, one in Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and one in medical hematology at Rush Presbyterian- St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
Paul was the medical director of Community Cancer Care at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center, where he passionately cared for and served countless patients. He was a member of The American Society for Clinical Oncologist and served on numerous medical boards.
Paul loved being with his family, especially times spent together in Northern, Michigan. He was an avid golfer, skier and was passionate about his relationship with The Lord.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Tracy Lynn, the love of his life and his adored children, Ian Thomas, Gabrielle Marie, Noah Daniel, Gideon Jacob, Jonah Carl and Violette McKenna of Grand Blanc. His mother Helen, brothers Drs. Sarkis and Gregory Derderian and their wives, Vicky and Cheryl; niece and nephews Dr. S. Christopher, Meghan, Nicholas, and Alexander Derderian will also dearly miss Paul.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Sarkis Derderian.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 am in Grand Blanc, MI at Mt. Hope Church on Embury Rd. Pastors Lucy Schaub and Randy Tompko will officiate the memorial service. Paul will be laid to rest in Lake Leelanau, MI.
Paul loved the Lord and was deeply committed to serving Him by being a faithful witness, loving husband and devoted father. A college fund has been established to help with the costs of sending Paul and Tracy's six children to college. Contributions to this fund are welcomed and greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
