BIOGRAPHY OF LATE PAUL ELINGE NGOLLO

(TONDE NGOLLO)

PAUL ELINGE NGOLLO was born in Buea on the 15th of May, 1930 to Mbondey of Wondongo and Ewokole Linonge of Mokunda village all of blessed memory He was a Presbyterian baptized in 1939 and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church .He was the 5th of six children. Paul Ngollo attended the Douala vernacular school for two years and was later admitted into the Basel Mission School in infance two. During his School days he was called a sprinter, footballer and was one of the players in the C.D.C football team.

After his Elementary Education in the Basel Mission School in Buea in 1951, he was taken to Tiko by his cousin Late aunty Emilia and gained employment into the Tiko Central Engineering by Mr Homme who was then married to the cousin Emilia… his job controlling the fireworks at the Central Factory, then a time keeper and later serve as a clerk in Tiko Area Office. Due to dedication to his job he was appointed as a Headman and transferred to Kange and Mile 29 Meanja respectively. He then got married to Mrs Clara Ngollo nee Kota Ndongoh from Bova and Bwiteva Wombongo.

He was transferred to Bimbia in Victoria as an overseer. In (1959-60), he was sent to the Agricultural Training Center in Bambui Bambili there he obtained a Diploma for crop management with specialty in rubber. During the training, he was so obedient and was nicknamed O.B.E which means Obedient Boy of the British Empire. Returning from his studies in 1966-1968 he was appointed Junior Field Assistant and sent to Mabeta , from 1968-1971 he was transferred to Meanja as a Field Assistant where he got married to his second wife Frida Ngollo nee Mofete from Woteva village. He gained promotion as senior Field Assistant and served in this same capacity in Sonne Rubber Estate, Misselele and Kompina respectively.

He was given the opportunity to further his education in 1975 he went to Nigeria for one month refresher course, in 1977 he went to Swaziland in South Africa and then to Malaysia in the 80s at the Manager management Centre. After his studies he was promoted as Estated Manager and sent to Mabeta - Limbe from 1985-91 where he retired but continued as a rubber contractor in Mabeta Estate from 1993-1998 running the “Nalendey Enterprise”

He Fell ill in 2009 and was operated in 2010 in SHISONG in Banso. He was doing well until he took ill again in September 2015 and was hospitalized for a couple of weeks at Biaka’s Hospital all the efforts to save his life proved futile and on October 25th he died.

He was married to two wives and blessed with 17children one of blessed memory (Rosemary Ngollo) and leaves behind 16 children, 29 grandchildren, 5great grandchildren, relatives, in-laws and friends to mourn him.  The strict Daddy, Mr P.E , The Manager, PEN, Big Mbamba, the Boss, Mola Tonde as you were fondly called; you were a blessing to us your children, nephew and nieces and many who crossed your path. We want to thank God for giving you a fulfilled life, and thank you for the love, education and your values you left with us. We will emulate your example. We are thanking all the doctors, nurses, his children especially Joan for the care.

We love you so much but God’s love surpasses all. You will be greatly missed. Adieu till we meet again.
