During high school Paul joined the Army Reserves. After graduation Paul joined the United States Army. On December 7th of 1959 he married the love of his life Dona L Reynolds of Shattuck Oklahoma. Paul devoted his life to supporting his Country with the support of his wife. They began married life on Leominster Massachusetts. On December 5th of 1960 their first daughter Debra "Debbie" Jean Ferguson was born at Perryton Texas. Dona's parents Donald and Birdella Reynolds where there to welcome Debbie into the world. On June 1St of 1962 they welcomed their second child Jo Ann Lynnette Ferguson who was born in Leominster Massachusetts.

Paul was born in Oklahoma City Oklahoma to Paul Ferguson SR. and Betty Chamberlain Ferguson. Paul Jr was welcomed home by his sister Patsy Ferguson Trotter. Paul aka "Bud" was raised in Oklahoma City by his loving Grandfather Howard Wesley and Grandmother Ruth V Chamberlain. Bud's Uncle Randall and Aunt Frances Chamberlain played an important part throughout their lives. As well as his Uncle Mac and Aunt Larene McDaniel and cousin Marcia. And we must not forget his favorite dog Toby.
