Can't believe it's been ten years.
Paul taught me way more then l realized at that time. He was the kindest and most gentle man l've ever met. Not to mention his vast knowledge of almost any subject and obvious superior memory.
I will always treasure the "guys only" trip we made to the West Jefferson, NC house to construct an attic deck inside our garage.
He provided invaluable Civil Engineering guidance and hammer time building this structure.
One amusing story was us purchasing a box of raisin bran cereal which was one of Paul's favorites.
Every morning in WJ, we ate this, but never encountered a single raisin. A few days later, we uncovered a small bag of raisins buried in the box's bottom.
Seems Paul forgot to tell me that this brand requires you to open the bag and distribute into the box !
We laughed a lot over that.
Looking back, l regret not being more patient during the early stages of his altheimers.
He knew how bad it would become from his family history.
Rest in peace Paul. You are remembered.

On this third anniversary of Paul's passing, he forever remains in our hearts and thoughts. There isn't a day that goes by that we are still reminded in some way of how Paul touched all of our lives with his gentle, loving spirit and wealth of knowledge. We will forever remember and miss you, Paul...With all our love and God's blessings...Nancy and Lorrie

Doesn't seem like he's been gone one year.
I still expect he and Nancy to walk through our rear door.
When he was "sharp", he'd frequently make some remark about
some subject from his frequent reading.
Rest in peace, Paul.

My dear Dad has been ripped from my heart.
My only consolation is knowing he's in a better place.
His passing is the most difficult thing I've ever had to deal with.
Tears are welling up as I write this tribute and I am at a loss for words.
I loved my Dad and I will miss him as long as I live.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Paul's passing, yet he now experiences perfect peace of mind and heart, as well as the joy of God's Presence. He was such a gentle man, always courteous, always respectful. I pray for Nancy, Lorrie, Stuart, and all of Paul's family members as they grieve for him. Sincerely, Joan Barratt

I will remember Paul as a kind hearted soul who knew more about everything then any other person I have known. He and I both loved to read, but he could remember so much more. I do not remember him saying a harsh word about anyone (well, maybe one..). He loved Nancy,
family and his dogs. Rest in Peace, Paul.
