Murachanian, Paul Levon, Age 96, passed away on May 17 in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on April 16, 1927 in Rockville Centre, New York to Mildred Marshall Murachanian and Levon Murachanian. Mr. Murachanian showed musical ability at a young age earning an Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts and later playing the Bugle aboard the Navy’s Princeton II during WWII.  After the war, he attended and graduated from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music under the direction of Frank Simon (Soloist for John Phillip Sousa), eventually becoming an accomplished trumpet instructor and performer. This ability would serve him well in his life calling. Mr. Murachanian dedicated his life and music to serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Outside of performing professionally, Mr. Murachanian started various successful band programs at over twenty Christian as well as preparatory schools across Southwestern Ohio giving him the opportunity to share his ability to thousands over the course of his career.  As his business matured, he received requests to gather his students throughout the region to perform on behalf of the White House, professional baseball, professional hockey, bi-centennial celebrations, nursing homes, three branches of the US Military, and countless military reunions from the eras of WWII, Korean, and Vietnam. These performances were often attended by capacity crowds. Over a ministry that spanned a half century, Mr. Murachanian organized literally hundreds of performances. His care and love for others, both the young, old, and war injured, would later earn him the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the Gold Level President’s Volunteer Service Award. Mr. Murachanian was a caring and compassionate family man whose life and ministry drew many souls to Christ.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Murachanian, and his parents, Mildred and Levon Murachanian. He is survived by his son Mark (Kathy) Diamond, son Kevin (Jessica) Murachanian, granddaughter Erika Diamond, grandson Nathan Murachanian, grandson Samuel Murachanian, and sisters Marian Major, Alice (Richard) Norford, and Edna Moody.
