Paul Robert Luther Jr, born in Dallas, Texas, December 22, 1926, passed away on March 3, 2019, in Dallas, Texas.
His late parents were Paul Robert Luther Sr. of Dallas and Alpha Birdie Cotten of Wood County, Texas. Paul Jr. was an only child.
He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1944 and volunteered for the Army Air Force. Because he was only 17 he needed his parents signature to be accepted. He served in the American theater during the War. He was selected for the ASTP (Army Specialized Training Program) and sent to Baylor University and Texas A&M for a semester each, and then after his Basic Training to Stanford University for two semesters. 
After being discharged from the military in Salt Lake City he returned to Dallas and enrolled at Southern Methodist University. While attending SMU Paul married Mary Frances Lawrence of Wills Point, Texas on December 21, 1947. He graduated from SMU with a Bachelor of Business Administration in January of 1950 and his first of seven children was born later that year. 
He was employed at Citizens Finance and Thrift, a business owned by his parents until it was sold. He also worked for IBM and was a real estate agent and broker later in life.
He has owned two ranch properties at different times and raised cattle on each. 
Some of his favorite activities during his life have been spending time and vacationing with family members, swimming wherever he could find water deep enough to float, gardening, owning and riding horses, hunting and frog gigging, Scouting programs including Philmont Scout Ranch, telling stories that were sometimes hard to believe, service in the church and ministering to the less fortunate,
He is survived by his loving wife; Mary Frances Lawrence Luther, seven children; Lawrence C Luther and wife Judith of Mesquite, Carol Jean Wood and husband Ron of Richardson, Leslie Ann Dawson and husband Russell of Round Rock, Mary Elaine Luther of Miami, Florida, Suzannah James and husband Mark of Houston, Nancy Beth Donworth and husband Tom of White Plains, New York, James Stuart Luther of Boston, Massachusetts, 
18 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. One grandchild, Cameron James predeceased him.
