Prima querida.

My earliest memories of Paula are from our swim lessons we took when we were little kids. The first few times I went I hated the class, I didn’t know the other kids and just felt lonely. And then Paula showed up one day and she made it not so bad anymore. I remember being excited to go to lessons just because she’d be there. Her energy and laugh were my favorite things about her personality. Even though we weren’t close later on, I saw her at my job a few months ago after not talking in a year or two and she was still so kind and funny, talking to me as if we had been long time friends and just telling me about how she’s doing and asking me about my life. I’ll always remember that small moment and the kindness she always showed me.

I first met Paula when I was a freshman playing volleyball at HHS. Although I was so scared and unsure that I wanted to go to tryouts, Paula never hesitated to reach out to me and be my partner in drills. She included me in everything and she always offered to assist me when I was confused. Her spunky and outgoing personality will be dearly missed amongst the HHS community and especially the volleyball team.

I met Paula through my little sister. Every time I saw her, she would run up to me and give me the biggest hug. She had the best hugs. She had such an amazing personality. Her laugh was contagious and her smile could light up an entire room. There was never a dull moment with Paula around. I remember driving my sister and Paula to different places before they were old enough to drive and we would have a blast listening and singing songs and gossiping like girls do. She had the sweetest soul and she will be missed by me and so many others. I love you, Paula. I am so sorry to her family and all of her loved ones. I will be praying for you all.

I first met Paula in middle school, her locker was right under mine. It didn’t take us long to start walking to class and eating lunch together. She always brought us cookies and things she made at home. She was an excellent baker. I dream about her cookies. She was a kind and giving person from the first time I met her. She never changed for anyone and that’s what I love about her. She was always 100% herself. She had a light in her like no one else. I loved sitting with her in the car before volleyball, we would always sing Disney songs. She had a beautiful voice. I want to thank her parents for raising such a beautiful and kind daughter. I’m so sorry for your loss. She will be missed by so many.
