Pauline Newton Greenway, 92, born May 6, 1924 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Brantwood Nursing Home in Oxford.

Pauline was the daughter of the late Luther Hammett Newton and Myrtle Hortense Puryear. She was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2017 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Eddie Mauldin. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park.

Surviving are her son, L.H. Greenway and special friend, Carolyn Curl; a grandson, Gary Greenway and two great-grandchildren, Austin Greenway and Justin Leonard; a special niece, Annette Y. Whitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe S. Greenway, four sisters, three brothers and a granddaughter, Wendy G. Leonard.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Eakes Funeral Home prior to the service and at other times at the home of L.H. Greenway.
