My favorite thought of Payton was of ice. He and Katie were swimming in their little pool and being it was so hot I brought out ice to add to the water. My oh so curious and beyond his years son looks at me with those bright blue eyes and asks "Momma how do you make ice?" 

Now any other child of three would be happy with the simple answer..when water freezes. Not Payton! As I tried to explain he looked at me and said, "That can't be right. Show me." And so ensued an afternoon of teaching my son how water CAN freeze to make ice. And would also melt back into water!
