My mother was the sweetest, most soft spoken and caring woman. Hard to imagine that with 5 children. So many of my friends after getting to know my mother and spend time with her would ask me, "do you think your mom would consider adopting me?" And this is when they were adults.

She was my confidant, my sounding board, and never judgmental. She lived a full life and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed.

Growing up, there were not that many chances to get to know my auntie Peggy, but the move to Edenton, NC was a wonderful treat. Whenever I visited my Mom, it was an opportunity to gather, dine and hear stories. I am so grateful to get to see what a wonderful person she was. She carried a beautiful calm, caring and thoughtful presence.

Peggy was a kind person, helping friends and community where she was needed.
She would rescue dogs from the shelters in need of a forever home. They found that home with Peggy.
Our Friday nights were special, food, music, laughter, and good wine, enjoying each others company.
She is missed, but never forgotten.

I met Peg in 1959 when my dad married Mickie. She was always sweet and inviting and passed that quality to all her children. That kind of positive energy is sorely missed

Peggy was a wonderful woman with a very kind heart. She was soft spoken and enjoyed visiting with friends. As everyone knows, red was her favorite color, fitting for a cheerful person. She had lots of stories to tell that brought smiles to those listening. She is greatly missed.
