Penny was an amazing woman, the best cook ever!  She was proud, had dignity and wonderful gift of perception   Ask her anything, she knew the answer - I was very fortunate to have spent so many years with her - The last ten years of her life were spent at Bethel Nursing Home in Croton, NY - I would visit her everyday and watched her endure so much especially in the last couple of years, the constant endless set backs with aspiration pneumonia , but she came back every time, what a spirit she had!!!!!, the staff kept saying that she had nine lives!  No one could understand how she recovered so many times!   As she started to loose weight in her last 4 months and  I knew that if she contracted  pneumonia again she would not have the reserves to fight it the next time- and my fears came to fruition, she passed with me at her side holding her and praying for her where she felt the most comfortable at Bethel her home for 10 years with me by her side.
