                         Memorial Service Information

Mass at St. Anthony's Church                                 11am Friday 1/29/16
862 Manhattan Ave Greenpoint, NY 11222

Parking will likely be a challenge, so please carpool if possible.  
If you can't find a spot, check with our local firehouse E238/L106 located on the corner of Greenpoint Ave and McGuinness Blvd.  Its about a 3 block walk to the curch.

Penny wasn't one for tears so instead let's crack open a beer and celebrate the life of Penny!

If you would like to donate in Penny's honor, we have coordinated with a charity called Bobbi and the Strays.  Since Penny was an avid dog lover, we thought this would be a great way to continue her legacy of love.  They are a wonderful organization and will be addind a memorial tribute to their website for Penny.

My dear friend... I still think of you and miss you kid - You definitely left us too soon....I guess we will ride our Harley's together one day in Heaven.. I toast to you and can not help but shed a selfish tear for my childhood best friend...

I light a candle in your memory. I often think of us growing up as children..the fun times we shared even into our young adult lives....as adults our lives took different paths but you always remained in my heart...you are so missed my dear friend...I look forward to the day I get to see you next to Jesus ...I love you Penny

Penny,

I remember a time when we were just kids, so tender and sweet, we were at the bungalow and we asked Grandma if Joann and I could stay the night with you. Grandma said yes, we all got excited. Then night time came and it was pouring out. We asked Grandma if we can go to the store and get some snacks, she gave us money and you ran out to the back deck saying you’ll get an umbrella so we can stay dry. Joann and I met you out front and there you were with the biggest umbrella of all. We laughed so hard our tummies hurt, the umbrella was from the picnic table! We were so young and small we probably could have fit all of Grandma’s twenty something grand children under there! So we went to the store on the boulevard jumping and splashing in the puddles. Our feet were soaked but at least our heads were dry.

The Broken Chain

I first met Penny at Greg and Danielle's wedding when someone tapped me on my shoulder and dragged me onto the dance floor. at the time I didn't realize that she was Danielle's sister but this lady had so much energy, and TOTALLY out-danced me. After dancing to several songs I eventually had to beg for a timeout to catch my breath. WOW!! She had so much energy. 

I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to know her better but she was obviously an incredible person, and full of life!

Rest In Peace, Penny, and I know that you will never be forgotten.

Still miss you and love you. I think of you often my childhood best friend....I know you are flying high with the angels and smiling down on all you loved... God definitely took you too early from us but he only takes the strongest soldiers and you sure were one of them.. Some holes in the soul will never be filled until we meet again with wings in heaven!

Bumped Penny's Car to Say Hello

 On an early April 1st morning, many years ago, I saw Penny and Ricky driving down Nassau Avenue. I was behind them in my car. I beeped my horn to say hello but they did not acknowledge. So we came up to a red light and I bumped their car. They both got out and Penny said, "what the f**k!" not knowing it was me. So I smiled and waved and said April Fools! They both smiled and laughed and said hello.
