His Life

On February 7, 1943, a precious gift, Percy Lee Collins, was born to the late James Collins and Bernice Seymour from Mississippi.  

At an early age Percy joined Friendship Baptist Church of Columbia, Mississippi.  He later joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Corinth, Georgia under the leadership of Reverend Johnny C. Strickland.  Percy served as a devoted deacon and a member of the choir.  He was employed at J. J. Precast for ten years and City of Grantville for three years.  

Percy shared a life with the late Annie Strickland and one son, Mr. Michael (Tyucha) Collins; four daughters, Ms. Vanessa Strickland, Ms. Nicketta Collins, Tara Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Melissa (Derrick) Maddox, all of Newnan, Georgia.  Percy later married Mrs. Ruby Nell Reeves Collins on August 27, 2005.  To this union, one special daughter, Sandra Johnson.  

He leaves to cherish his precious memory, one sister, Alma Deloatch of Norfolk, VA; four brothers, Roosevelt Collins of Los Angeles, CA, Willie Collins of Norfolk, VA, Robert Earl Collins of Ocean Springs, MS, and the late Oliver Collins; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
