His Life

tribute to my grandfather

December 20, 2012

I was deeply saddened  to learn of my grandfathers passing. So to my family, be encouraged, “God is our refuge and strength, a pleasant help in times like these” also be assured that “God will heal the broken-hearted, binding up their wounds.”

Although I was unable to attend his service I am honored to be able to write this tribute about my beloved grandfather.

My grandfather was a very positive person, who always had a smile on his face. He was very generous, a beautiful person “inside and out”, words cannot express how great of a person he was.

My foundess memory of him would have to be the time he sat down with me and educated me on my family’s history and where I came from, my grandfather was always willing to give his wisdom and advice to me (I am so grateful for that).

I will miss many things about my grandfather:

His food, (esp the way he cooked his peas, rice, and chicken) his beautiful laugh when  he watched his favorite sitcom sandford & son, the way he drove that ol’ mustang back and forth to the store jus to buy me chips, the way he would sit in his chair reading a newspaper while listening to classical music or the news on the radio. But I will most certainly miss the way he always wore those cowboy hats every single day, he never left the house without his hat (I kinda thought he wanted to secretly be a real cowboyJ )

My Grandfather has gone away but I am comforted in knowing that I will see him again someday! But until then, I will cherish the times we’ve spent together.

Thank You for being such a wonderful person to me, your family and friends. You will live on forever in our hearts, we will miss you and love you always

Your favorite grandaughter
