Our Family Photo when we were small...
This picture was taken in the 60’s in San Andres , Manila, Philippines. This was part of my grandma’s compound (my mother side) where my Aunts and Uncles including us were given a one door apartment each to start your own small family. This was given among my mother’s side family to all her children. Every Christmas day all the siblings of my Mom with their families would come spend Christmas Day opening gifts from whoever had brought and had a festive array of home cooked foods from grandma and aunts. There were also games… so this was part of the reunion… My mom always dressed us up so pretty. We would take a picture of each family for souvenir as we grow up each year. In this picture , Dad had his moustache like a cowboy… and Mom looks like she belongs to the movies…she looks like an actress…very beautiful…. I know I do have gorgeous parents and adorable siblings. I love them all and I can’t ask for more…
On the left is Cathy, Mommy Connie, Dickie, Daddy Pete and MariChris...
The Artist ...
Daddy Pete painted and signed this in 1995 after he moved to Baguio. He started painting as a hobby after his stroke. It was a good therapy for him. I personally selected this frame for his painting. The colors are so rich that I decided on a dark frame that complimented it. I gave this painting to Mom after it was framed.
This painting is very similar to the painting I have on "My House" album on facebook. Peter had handcarried that painting from Mallorca, Spain and he bought it from a restaurant while the Artist had a show.
Daddy Pete has more paintings that I have not seen yet. Good job Dad !
