Summers

February 23, 2021
Brad would stay at our house a lot during the summer when we were kids.
Some times in the evening after dark, we would sneak over to one of the neighbors and help ourselves to apples that grew on trees in their yard. In August they were still on the green side but we didn't care.
There was a school across the street from my house and they had a dumpster that was up against the building. I guessed that we could climb on the dumpster and get on the roof. We were just about to make it up to the roof when a patrolling police car spotted us and the chase was on. We didn't make it too far before being caught. After we plead our case that we weren't vandalizing anything they let us go.
One summer I had firecrackers that I sold to a friend. He and another guy would come over and hangout with Brad and I. For some reason that I don't remember I wasn't with them but they got the idea to stuff some of the firecrackers in an aspirin bottle. They were at the house behind us and Brad got talked into lighting the improvised exploding device.I heard the explosion. I was glad I wasn't with them because sure enough, the police showed up again.   My final story was abou a young woman that lived nextdoor. At night when she was getting ready for bed she would change in front of her bedroom window and let it all hang out. Brad and I sure enjoyed that.

Baby I miss you a lot,
if you were here with me, today February 15 we would be celebrating our sixteenth wedding anniversary,
you do not know how much your unexpected departure has hurt me ,
you transcended this early plane and left an indelible  mark‼️on my heart ,
I feel it empty and I
for your physical absence, when someone asks for you...I ,
I also cry at nights when I can not fall  asleep,
without proposing it...
I keep my emotions and that is why my grieving process take time,
I look at the sky,
and look for you in the
Star ✨ most shine,
and do with your light ,
I feel calmer.
I LOVE YOU BABY,
I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!!

I didn’t really know Pete, but I feel like I did, through the stories I have heard from his sister Dawn (who I do know and love with my whole heart). I know that although Pete and his sisters were geographically apart, they were never really far apart in their love for each other. I know that he is greatly missed by them and the rest of his family. I also know the memories will stay in their minds and hearts forever

Summer, Hamburgers & French Fries

February 6, 2021
Pete was a great guy, not much older than me. We did some fun things together. In the Summer we would walk three miles to the community pool in Hammond to swim. We would swim all day! Afterward, we would stop to eat at a local grill. Our favorite food was Hamburgers and French Fries. There are so many great memories I have of Pete. We were second cousins but he treated me like a little brother. I was glad we were able to connect and keep in touch on Facebook Messenger the last few years.

Also, there was a hit song that Pete and I liked a lot; it was Do You Know What I Mean? - Lee Michaels (1971). Pete had the 45 on A&M Records. Every time I hear that song I think of Pete.

You will  be missed Pete.

With Much Love,
Your Cousin, Joey
