When I needed a map drawn for school I would always get Uncle Pete to draw it.

Uncle Pete worked in the coal mines. We played marbles all the time. We would watch for Uncle Pete to get home because he would bring us steeles from the mines. A Steele is a ball bearing if anyone doesn't know. With these you could always win the game.

I have a lot of memories. Uncle Pete was great cook. I would love to watch him make Nokkies. He would work all day in the mines then come home and cook. He was special.

I remember dad driving from louisville back to visit Uncle Pete...I wasn't lucky enough to have a lot of memories of him. I was little when we traveled back to Pond Creek.. I was with my dad and mom at Pete and Grace's in Georgia when dad got the call...RIP
