Incidentally the last day we saw physically was during Yvonne's traditional wedding in your Ekpoman house.
Little did l know that was our last get together.
However we always had lengthy phone calls the last being early Feb consigning linking your 9Mobile line to NIN.
Our friendship went way back to our Sec. School days. Jacob was our initial link but we later became a tripod. Life without you and Jacob will not be complete. But thank God for the opportunity of knowing and befriending the two of you.
I wish you stayed a few more years with us but God knows best.
Rest in peace in God's kingdom by His special grace and forgiveness.
Good bye....

Tribute to my beloved brother.

If I am asked a million times to choose a brother, you will still be my option.

The last time we discussed was on Monday 22nd February 2021, Three days before your dismissal.
I never knew that would be the last conversation we would ever have together.

I never had the chance to say goodbye.
I never had the chance to say I will miss you.

Nobody knew you were going to die, it hurts so deeply. I wept, I cried and I am still crying.

The pains of your death can't be healed.
Rest in peace my beloved one in a million brother. I know you are in a much better place, I will always remember you for your brotherly love and advise.

I love you but God loves you most.
From your beloved sister Rev Mrs D. A. Gude

Tribute to an icon

Hearing the news of your demise, I couldn't bring myself to accept that you were gone. In all I give the glory to God Almighty that you lived a fullfilled life. Your death has brought us understanding of what Paul says in Philippians 1:21 " for me to live in Christ and to die is gain"

Daddy as I fondly call you, I will miss you so much, the emptiness on the space you left in my heart is so deep. It will be difficult to know you left without saying goodbye.

Daddy you were a father, a mentor, and a councilor. You were very dedicated, hardworking and steadfast in the things you do. You carried all your family members along. You were indeed a father.

Sincerely I will miss your peaceful nature, vital presence and your legacy will forever remain and strengthen us in time of trouble. Rest in peace my beloved uncle. Adieu

Your nephew

Daddy I still can't believe I am writing a tribute because of your passing. Words can not describe this difficult moment.
Daddy you were one in a million, daddy was very humble, kind, loving, caring and good at heart and soul, you were a great personality, you were a peace loving man, upright in all your dealings.
Daddy you were and will always be an inspiration to myself the entire family and everyone who worked with you, you left a void in the family that will never be filled. We love you, but God loves you more,
Rest in peace daddy. You will be greatly missed. With a heavy heart. I say ADIEU!

Dear uncle, it is still very hard to say goodbye after going through memory lane of how close, understanding and accommodating you were to us. As children then, we always looked forward to visiting you and your lovely family because we always enjoyed ourselves being at your home, how I wish we could turn back the hands of time. Of cause, we are all visitors here on planet earth and certainly, we would go back someday, to be with our Maker and that is the joy we have right now that you are in the bossom of the Lord. Farewell uncle till we meet to part no more.

Daddy, it is very difficult to come to terms with the reality of your demise. You were a great father and we will continue to hold dearly the great memories that we have of you. May you find your place in Abraham"s bossom even as we look forward to seeing you some day. Love you Daddy!

Your Death came as a shock to us and as you sit in the arms of the Lord, your family and friends mourn your death. My heart is heavy as I write this tribute. Your body might be gone from this world but your spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Today we will mourn you in our own way as we pay a tribute to you. I still wake up every morning hoping this is a dream, and it hurts knowing you are gone.
My uncle was different from the rest of our family. A man of integrity, high moral standing that always chooses his thoughts and actions based on value rather than personal gain. You are INIMITABLE and IRREPLACEABLE.
I did not think we would be here this soon but God, in His infinite wisdom, knows exactly why He allowed it. The Bible says in everything give thanks, and I am indeed full of thanksgiving for the privilege of having had you in my life. We love you but God loves you more and I know that He has you resting comfortably in His everlasting arms. Just know we all love you and will miss you deeply.

Rest Well Uncle! Rest in Perfect Peace!

It was with a heavy heart and sadness I heard about the news of your transition into the bosom of the Lord. I have founding memories of you growing up as a child as a mild mannered, kind and an intelligent man. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this difficult time. May they find comfort and draw strength from your lasting legacies and May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

One phone call, then you are shattered!

I remember those days whenever I returned from school (seminary); I would visit, and you always welcomed me with a broad smile. That was home for me. Then we would sit and talk for hours. You gave me so much even without knowing it. Your presence in my priestly ordination in Lagos crowned it all. You were always there for me.
You called me son, and you were never shy to say you love me. I thank providence for making our paths cross.

Death is not death; it is the beginning of another life. From death comes life; we believe you are in a better place and state. From the seed that falls and dies sprouts a new life. The college of ancestors welcomes a great soul. Rest on daddy, rest on, ancient star. Your son mourns you and at the same time celebrates your life.
