one year ago today, i woke up to the worst news of my life. the pain i felt cannot be described. time has flown and the pain of losing you is still fresh. iv'e tried to get closure and move on but i just can't. i still have too many questions.life has changed in many ways and i miss you soooo much . i am now a mom and wish you had met my lovely Sam . She looks just like me especially in some baby photos you took of me. my other big day is coming up and to be honest i have mixed emotions about it. i wish you were there to walk me down the isle with mom and be part of the day as well.all i can do now is hope to feel your presence and love. in all of this i thank God for the time we shared and the beautiful memories we made. life is hard without you. everything is so confusing. atleast the pain and suffering is now over for you. i know you are having a restful time. you deserve it. i promise to always make you proud and take care of mom. you still remain the very best dad. see you later my daddy, my forever friend.
MEMORIES ARE GOLDEN
CELEBRATING GRANDPA
The love we have for grandpa will never fade away.we will think of him, our special friend throughout each passing day. He was a man who had
smiles to brighten your days who always made you feel good with his warm
words of praise. And what’s more he knew what to do to make wishes come true.
Guka was someone who always had good stories to tell, but just as important he
knew how to be a good listener as well. He was patient and kind and the very
best friend you could ever have. When we walk into the room and see his empty
chair; although we know he is resting, we will feel his presence there.
Memories are forever be they of laughter or tears. We will always treasure that
special smile, that caring heart, that warm embrace, you always gave us,
throughout our entire lives......and we are proud to tell the world that he was our
special GUKA.
From :~Kimani & Muthee, Myles & Maya, Elvis, Abigail and also welcome our
latest additions Samantha and Brianna to share grandpa's memories
TRIBUTE
The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their
mother and I want to start by thanking my Mom for having such great taste
in men. She chose Dad a man who would love, honor and respect her for 42
years, until God called him home. Whose love she likewise returned. Two peas
in a loving pod for a lifetime. We want to thank you Mom for selecting for us
the most wonderful and loving father, one we could respect, treasure and adore,
one who was such a loving and caring man. How deeply and tenderly he loved
us each in his own special way and we him. We will cherish his memory.
Truly a rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands
are empty. The story of Dad is one of a life well lived. No matter what
the role he played, he did it well. We had always thought life was simple and
smooth-sailing for our family, but as time progressed, we began to each see
much sacrifice was made by our parents. Sacrifices that have positively
influenced our lives and will no doubt continue to guide us in our journey.
Dad didn’t tell us how to live; he lived and let us watch him do it. To
us, Dad always portrayed himself as an emotionally strong man who
no matter how tough situations were or how bleak the future seemed, he
would be able to remain strong and continue to be the pillar of hope and
support in our lives, through his actions he showed us the importance of
trying before giving in and influencing us to be tenacious in pursuit of our
dreams.
Respected for his ability and integrity, those who knew him, knew he
was a man of convictions who strongly believed, talked and firmly stood
for the things that were important. He was always the good shepherd to anyone.
He did all this and more, quietly, silently and with humility.
As Dad has left us for his heavenly abode, we know his heavenly father is
waiting to tell him how proud He is of him. All his extended family, his father
(our dear grandfather joseph) and friends who went before him too are there to
welcome him. His God who he worshipped so well will embrace him and say:
“Peter you have lived a wonderful life – welcome home.”
Death and tomorrow is just the next heartbeat away. As Dad joins the
heavenly chorus, we too lift up our voices and join him with grateful
hearts and thanksgiving. As wonderful witnesses of his cheerful life, all who
had the opportunity to meet with him will sorely miss him. He will continue
to live on in our hearts and memories and be a lasting source of inspiration to
us. And for the short time we have remaining here on earth, we are grateful
to him and Mom for instilling in us good quality things. And now it’s time to
say goodnight, let the angels take thee to thy rest. We miss you already and
will love you forever until we meet again. May God hold you in the palm of
his hand; rest in God’s peace and in our love.
Dad a sons first hero, a daughters first love. We love you
