Philip “Yankee” Carrigan, 76, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC.

A native of Bentwood, New York, the son of the late Philip and Annie Toolan Carrigan, the older brother to John Carrigan of California and the husband of Valerie Clemente Carrigan.  Philip came to Butner in 1981 and was a retiree of the State of North Carolina.

Mass Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 13, 2012 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 804 West “D” Street, Butner, North Carolina 27509.  Burial will be held in the Washington Family Cemetery in Stem, NC

Surviving other than his wife and older brother are two sons, Philip Carrigan, Jr. of New York, Christopher Carrigan of Pennsylvania, two grandchildren, Michelle and Steven.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:30 PM, Wednesday Evening in the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor, 834 North Main Street, Creedmoor, NC 27522.

The family would like to extend its appreciation and thanks to the wonderful caregivers of Home Care Hospice and Hock Family Pavilion provided by Duke Healthcare.  Also, we would like to thank all the friends and families for their prayers, support, love and care throughout these difficult times.  A special thanks to the Ellis and Washington families.

Val, so sorry to hear about Phillip and wanted you to know that Gloria and I are thinking of you. We cannot be there either tonight nor tomorrow because of conflicts with Heather and 2 granddaughters. We pray that each day will be a little easier for you. Will try to see you when can be arranged. Love to you.
