Happy 76th birthday Grandad!

September 28, 2019
Yesterday was our Granddads 76th birthday it was also his first birthday not on this earth but in heaven. One thing that we always loved about Grandad was that we would go to Dunkin Donuts on the first and last day of all of his visits for donuts. This was something that was to hard to go back to until yesterday. We went to Dunkin Donuts and got four donuts we lit candles and sang happy birthday to him. I have a feeling this will turn into a tradition that every year on his birthday we sing to him with donuts.  As we watched the smoke disappear I remembered how fortunate we where to have the best Grandad of all times. I knew he was watching us sing to him from heaven and that he loved that we celebrated his birthday in that way.
Happy Birthday Grandad!!
Love your favorite Grandadaughter Libby!

My Grandad

September 15, 2019
To me Philip High was my Grandad. I saw this summer the close relation ship he had with so many people of Holt but to his family he was a wonder and a gift to all of us. He was not found of flying at all but he graciously flew from England to America more then 30 times to visit! Grandad was a man of many things but one of them was a sense of routine especially coffee and tea! He found thrills in getting coffee in interesting places like walking though a drive though at a fast food restaurant or going into a kids arcade center while his wife shopped. One of our tradition  was every time he came that first morning we would rush out to Dunkin Donuts and come back with 12 sugar coated treats that would last a matter of minutes. This is something which is too hard to go back to without him. Grandad was a man of very strong convictions. These convictions helped the town of Holt but did not help his wardrobe choices. He believed sneakers where worn with blue jeans and short sleeve dress shirts under a shirt coat he would never hesitate to wear oddly colored pajama pants either. Above all else building bonds with my brothers and I was a priority of his visits. He was a master train track and marble run builder. He would never turn down a game of cards or an opportunity to play catch or play in the snow. As you can see Grandad was a huge part of all of my our lives and still is in our hearts because we know we will see him again one day. Thank you so much for reading this and if you knew Grandad please comment or write something so everyone can know what an amazing person and Grandfather he was. Yours sincerely Libby High.
