Phil was my uncle, my Dad's younger brother.  I liked his great sense of humor.  He and Dad, whenever they got together, would often get involved in a mechanical mystery of a car or truck.  One time, at a family camp, my husband and I could not figure out why the generator in our RV would run, but not provide any juice to the RV's interior appliances or lights or outlets.  Uncle Phil and Dad worked on it for several hours with no luck.  Then my husband found a hidden outlet in the compartment of the generator, and a cord leading from the generator, but not plugged in.  So he plugged it in, and we had electrical power!  Phil said. "Dang, that was the next thing we were going to try!"  And we all had a good laugh about that.
