Phillip Edward Tichenor Sr
Age 74, of Canton, Oh
passed away Tuesday. March 24, at his residence following a lengthy illness. Phillip was born in Beachwood, West Virginia on December 2, 1934, and had lived in our area since 1974. Served in the U.S. Air Force as a master Sgt. in the Korean & Vietnam Wars retiring after 20 years of service. Employed as a Maintenance Department Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service main office in Canton for 20 years & a member of VFW Post 3747 of Canton. Preceded in death by his parents Dayton & Elizabeth (Donaldson) Tichenor; daughter, Mary Elizabeth TIchenor; grandson, Brian Tichenor; sister, Leona Lake; and a brother Charles Tichenor. Survived by his wife, Mary M. (Kennedy) Tichenor to whom he married October 2, 1952; a daughter, Pamela (Gary) Haddix of Canton; four sons, Phillip Edward Jr, and Richard, both of the home, Charles (Patricia), and William (Belinda), both of Canton; two sisters, Gloria Gaskill of Lancaster, Ohio, Rita Milliron of Heath, Ohio; a brother Donald Tichenor of Morgantown, West Virginia; sister in law, Jean Tichenor of Heath, Ohio; and 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, with Minister Mandi Massey officiating. Friends may call Firday 6-8pm in the funeral home. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Louisville Ohio.
