This memorial website was created in memory of our loved mother, Phyllis Anne Zehner, 87, born on May 5, 1928 and passed away on May 8, 2015. We will remember her forever.
Phyllis Anne Newcomb Zehner was born May 5th,1928, in Rochester, Indiana to H. Dean and D. Mearle Newcomb. At the age of 87 she passed away peacefully May 8th, 2015 at the Hospice Center in Wichita, Kansas. She lived in Goddard, Kansas near her second born daughter, Mary and her family. Phyllis was a loving and giving mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord with all her heart and had a wonderful kind and gentle spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert and oldest son, David, and her ex-husband, Oscar. She graduated from Rochester High school in 1946. She also was active in Girl Scouts, 4-H club, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and the Rebecca lodge. Her talented artistic ability was expanded by attenting Vogue Beauty College of South Bend and eventually owning her own shop, the Village Beauty Salon in Culver, Indiana. She is survived by six of her seven children, Carole (Terry) Seese, Madison, WI, Mary (Dan) Stockemer, Colwich, KS, Ruth Mulholland and Bonnie Minney, Littleton, CO, Paula Weintraut, Port St. Lucie, FL, and Vance (Tracy) Zehner, Verona, WI; twentytwo grandchildren, twentynine great-grand children, one great-great granddaughter and one nephew Philip (Becky) Newcomb. She will placed next to her parents at the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Rochester, Indiana this summer. Memorial services will be held at Medical Lodges of Goddard, Kansas on May 28th, at 3:30pm.
